View Full Version : Ahhh... the joy of scoreboard watching!

Is it bad to say we're scoreboard watching after losing to the raiders last week? So far so good:

Pittsburgh (7-7) is tied with Baltimore (8-6) at home, 20-20. I'm torn on who I want to win. Both hold H2H tie-breakers over Denver. If Pittsburgh loses, they fall to 8-8, takes them pretty much out of playoff picture barring every team choking. If Baltimore wins, they sit at 9-6 and should clinch them a playoff spot. If Baltimore loses, they're both are sitting at 7-7 and have a chance to catch Denver if the Broncos lose to either Philly or KC and finish 9-7. That would leave Denver out of the playoffs. We should probably be rooting for Pitt to lose. Should they both hit 9-7, they both would have tie-breakers over Denver unless we win out at Philly today and against KC which would be awesome, tough to count on though given our inconsistency overall.

Houston (7-7) is destroying the Dolphins (7-7), 27-3 at home. Miami owns a favorable conference record so them losing would be a great thing for us. Houston has a horrible record at 4-6 in the conference so most likely they will need to sweep today and next week against NE, and hope everybody loses. Probably not happening. Houston is at home against NE next week, Miami will host Pittsburgh. Both teams would be underdogs in those matchups.

NE is taking Jacksonville behind the woodshed, 28-0. No surprise, Jack Del Rio and his club are pulling their annual chokejob. This loss probably takes them out of playoff contention barring every team losing down the stretch. Jacksonville is at Cleveland next week. NE is at Houston. (NE will probably knock the Texans out as well.)

Indy is taking on the Jets today. Hopefully they strive to keep their perfect season alive and knock off the NY in the process. That would put them at 8 losses and most likely out of the playoffs.

Of course, Denver holds the playoffs in their hands: They just need to win the next two. If they can do that, they will make the playoffs regardless. Question is, do you want to play at NE, or Cincy?

Lets go Broncos!!!

If Baltimore wins then we're almost certainly in the playoffs with a win against Kansas, even if Philly beats us.

Root for them!

That's the way i'm leaning too. Baltimore winning most likely gives them the #5 seed over us but at least we don't have to worry about Pittsburgh who also owns a h2h tiebreaker over us.

bpc, I know you are not a fan of me but we NEED Balt to win. If Pitt wins it is out of our hands IF we lose today. If Balt wins we can lose today, win next week and be 6th seed.

I'm indifferent on everybody within this forum and basically just see Bronco fans which makes all of us good, and better than any other fan-base in the league... even though we may talk a bunch of **** to each other and don't always agree on what is right for our franchise. We love it, none the less.

GO BRONCOS!!!! I'm pumped for our playoff game today. I hope we come out and kick ass.

I want the broncos in NE whatever happens. Both teams will hold a Denver grudge, but we have good Karma in NE.

#5 and #6 is pretty much the same thing to me.

NE is starting to play a little hotter. That would really ramp up a return matchup with McD against BB and his boy, Tom Brady. Tough matchup.

Then again, Cincy wasn't a walkover, could run on us much better IMO vs. NE, and they will be playing inspired ball with C. Henry on their minds.

Neither game will be easy, I still think we have a 50/50 chance in both if our defense brings its A game.

I agree. Neither the pats or bengals seem like anything special and we've beaten them both already. Then if we win, the colts and the chargers both seem to be tough, but beatable teams. I really don't see any reason to care about getting the 5th vs 6th seed.

Even if we somehow got both WC teams to the AFCCG I don't really think we hold any sort of home field advantage anymore, so who cares where we play it.

True, but the Pats game would be hyped to high heaven and I'd rather sneak in and beat the Bengals again. Plus we'd get to see the Stokely play over and over and over and over and over...

When your season comes down to scoreboard watching every year to get in the playoffs you don't deserve to be there.

Well that's a good thing because if we win the next two, we're in. So it hasn't come down to that yet. :pimp:

Well they can win the next 2 games and none of these games will matter. They haven't yet resorted to other teams failing to take their spot.

There's been a lot of penalties against Baltimore.

I agree. This team, it's coaches, the youth, need to reach the playoffs this year. It would be a huge boost to the confidence and moral of this franchise combined to finally get back there.

Then we can go into this draft with a really high pick and a chance to change the culture over the past three years to that of success and playoff football again.

Baltimore is doing what it can to choke this game away after dominating the 3rd quarter.

Mason has been clutch almost all his career and when we need him the most, he drops a guaranteed TD. Sucks.

Bit of a fail post. We still have it in our hands. We are scoreboard watching as results can go a certain way to make it easier.

Bad news for Denver. We needed Pittsburgh to lose but alas, it comes down to what Denver does. Win the next two and it doesn't matter.
