Xmas gift question ....

I have two almost matching ... Pc's , desktops , I bought nice empty cases and put them together.. one for me one for the girlfriend... couple years ago before games was mostly on DVD ....

BUT when i put cd drives in them I put a really nice dvd burner in mine and just put a regular cd burner in hers thinking , hell why do i need two dvd drives , hers can dump info onto cd for whatever she needs , good enough , anything major I'd do from mine...

She wants some game "Dragon Age" that is on a DVD rom and I know her pc wont read it ...

SO MY QUESTION IS ....
I have a external usb dvd drive at my office ... in the box that never gets used.
Can I just bring that home and buy here the game and install it using that usb drive to her HD , and then when she want to play it she can put the cd in that drive , boot the game and take out the cd.... ???????
Almost every other game I own , all the info is on your HD and the Cd just ok's it to load... So I figure this should work fine ....

or am I going to have to go through the trouble of buying a internal drive for hers ????? Why she wont just play it on my Laptop or my desktop , I have no idea ....

Anyone ???

I knew someone would go there LOL ,

It has 0 to do with cost , and more to do with her being able to play it Xmas night and not making it a dead give away that one of her 5 gifts is that game before she opens it by ripping open a case this week AND not having to unhook a million cables from where hers and mine are hooked up to my tvio , roland machine, and reference monitors and not feeling like Fing with all that IF i can do it via usb with 0 mess and effort ...

As long as the external drive is functional, there should be no problem installing the program from this removable device.

dude wtf did you buy one with just cd-burner parts? What was it like 5 more dollars to have the actual dvd-rw in there (not like you had to have a nice one, hell a reader is probably the same price as a cd burner.

Either way, the answer is yeah, the external USB will be fine... some may require drivers so make sure you have those.

I have to give you kudos for buying an external HD for your porno and keeping it at your office so she can't find it..... nice work !!!

Forget the computer. Nothing says I love you more than an Orbital buffer and some carnuba wax. Get her some sun and excercise at the same time while your car gets the shiney wax job it deserves.
