Despite all the crap play all around yesterday, if they had simply changed ONE decision yesterday, the Broncos win.

Third drive of the game for the Broncos:

4-5-OAK 41 (:44) 17-M.Berger punts 7 yards to OAK 34, Center-66-L.Paxton, out of bounds.

If they had simply kicked the field goal there, it would've been a 58 or 59 yarder. Obviously it wasn't a gimme, but the way Prater was booting the ball (his 51 yarder was right down the middle and EASILY would've been good from another 10-15 yards), I would've liked our chances. And if he missed it, turns out the field position would've only been swung about 15 yards.

I can't believe they didn't even take a timeout to think about it.

That's a long field goal. I don't know about that. What I do know is that a 7-yard punt is ridiculous.

Or If berger just kicked the ball.

I said at the time (not revising history here) Denver should have gone for it on 4th and goal from the 2. It would have changed the whole complexion of the game -- even if they don't get it. Oakland would have been pinned deep. Even if they go the length of the field and score, we are down 20 - 16 and have the ball LAST.

I thought the same thing when it happened.

That got Oakland going since they had been pinned deep everytime until that.
