You need a slightly better picture of yourself for starters.

Giving the government control over health care, an industry that is one sixth of the economy, is a disaster waiting to happen.

you got my vote...

Just call up the insurance industry, pharma and big oil and tell them you'll do whatever they tell you to do. You'll breeze right into office.

It'll be refreshing to see someone get elected who's goal isn't to be set for life financially.

Falconer,

I glanced at your site. I gather you are an independent. That's the right place to be.

You are spot on about bringing the troops home. The only way to fix our economy and deliver education/health care etc to our people is to drastically slash the bloated military budget. Needless to say -- it won't be easy. Our biggest problem is the war machine.

I recommend you go beyond an audit -- and support a bill to abolish the federal reserve. The Constitution gives Congress the power to regulate commerce. The Congress and the White House should work together set monetary policy. Why PAY a private bank to create $$$?? The treasury should do this -- and did for most if our history. The fed reserve system is how we got into deep debt. It is a money machine for private bankers -- to get rich off the working man.

It might be a good idea to start your political career by running for a local office -- such as county commissioner. Win that, get some experience -- then go for it,

Good luck.

I like... I like a lot. However, being that I am not a resident of Ill, I can only wish you good luck. But, this is a good sign. The more people who think like us there are out there, the more who challenge the Dem/Rep opposite ends of the same party sytem, the better we will become.

For Profit Corporate Run Health care has proven to be a failure and out right disaster as well. After all the CEO's of Private Health Insurers must continue to steal millions to 100's of millions in pursuit of the FREE MARKET! So what are we going to do as a Nation to make healthcare available and affordable for all Americans???

I wish you good luck. DC needs less career politicians and new blood, plus those that will actually think of the country first before themselves.

I thank each of you for taking the time to look at my website. I do hope that others will continue to look at it and give me additional feedback. I also would like to take the time to respond to a couple of the posts.

First off, I wish I was better looking, but alas I am not. I just will have to hope that my wife's beauty will somewhat hide my ugliness.

As to my experience, I know this will be a significant issue. I never intended to run for office, so I didn't pursue a career path to my present candidacy. Unfortunately our federal government seems intent on ignoring our constitution and running our country into the ground in the most expedient manner possible. So I have to run for an office that can make a true difference at the federal level. Besides, look what experience has done for us presently. Maybe a lack of experience would be a good thing.

Finally, I am not sure if you looked at my health care issue on my website rastaman, or if you just took that one quote from Bronx33. I think I do offer some common sense alternatives and regulations in my health care issue. I do not believe that health care can continue the way it is now, but the federal government has no authority under the Constitution to offer health care. That is what it comes down to in the end. There are a great many things that the government could do, but which it has no power to do. They are doing these things everyday and in doing so, taking away more of our freedom and liberty. Please do not mistake the fact that I am saying things should not be done, just that the federal government should not be doing them. If we want certain things like a public health care option we should look toward our state and local governments. They might have the latitude to do such things depending on their own constitutions.

Good luck, my advice is if you do get elected do everything you can while you're there. If you try to rock the boat you'll be out in one term. So make that term meaningful.

Hey boss,

First off good luck to you...

I'm not familiar whith how things work in Ill. but my father in-law has been running for state assemblyman in CA since last Jan, so it seems like this is a VERY recent decision for you.

Couple of questions for you...

Are you officially on the ballot yet?

What kind of financial backing do you have? the fact is it will take SIGNIFICANT $ to have a reall shot at this.

Finally... who is the incumbant in your district?

I'm just curious how the X's and O's of this work.

By the way, I like the look of the website and for the most part your views on issues seem to be relatively mainstream. As I said in the begining, good luck to you!

Hey Dave,

Thank you for your comments. I am not officially on the ballot, as I cannot even begin getting signatures to get on the ballot until March 23, 2010. I will need a little over 15,000 good signatures, so that means I will need to get at least 20,000 to be safe. I have 90 days in which to gather the signatures. We are hoping to have a good grass roots movement.

At the present time I have a campaign manager, a campaign finance manager, and a fund raiser in place. We are not starting with a significant amount of money, but we are hoping to be able to raise it as people hear about our issues (we really need to get the donate portion of the website going).

I am in the 12th congressional district of Illinois, and the current incumbant is Jerry Costello. He is definately entrenched and I understand the difficulty of what I am doing. However, nothing is ever going to change if nobody tries to do something about it. I am also hoping that the current public sentiment in regards to our elected officials will carry over to the next election cycle and we will see some real changes.
