Would it be worth a 1st round pick if safety Eric Berry (Tenn) was still on the board when we pick ? Some have him rated above Suh and G. MCoy.... ?

Getting Berry anywhere past pick no. 5 would be a steal.

No one has Berry rated over Suh. NS is the first non-QB taken, whether that makes him 1st or 2nd overall, it'll be before EB. Berry over McCoy? Sure I'm sure there are some out there that have that.

In this draft, I wouldn't rate anybody over Suh.

SportinOne

Don't forget the hit he put on a receiver to cause an incompletion on a crucial 3rd down.

He was making some plays, too bad, but a broken arm won't affect his career once he's back. All is good.

I agree Suh is tops but some have Berry rated as high but Suh won't be there but Berry might be.

I stand corrected. Way to go McShay, a nice knock on your credibility there.

He also has Denver selecting Carlos Dunlap (his 21st rated prospect) with the 10th pick in his mock draft.

From what I saw of Darcel McBath this year, he appears to be a ball-hawk just like he was at Texas Tech.

The Broncos have not really had a center fielding ball-hawk since Tyrone Braxton converted from corner to safety.

The only highlight I can think of him as a bronco. The first play in video.http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2008113004/2008/REG13/broncos@jets#tab:watch/analyze-channels:cat-post-playbyplay

Is that John Enlgerburger running like a litte girl towards the play?

He also has Denver selecting Carlos Dunlap (his 21st rated prospect) with the 10th pick in his mock draft.

To be fair, rating the players is different from predicting who will pick a player and where. He may only think Dunlap is 21st overall, but he may be predicting that some teams will overrate him.

yes he was terrible.. the season is OVER!

No, he wasn't. Fox actually played pretty decent ball for us last year and was in the very last round of cuts IIRC.

He's not someone you want starting for you on a regular basis, but as backup and special teamer who can step in for brief periods of time he's about as good as they come.

Why didn't he catch on somewhere else then? It took until Week 15 for a team to sign him, can't have been in too high demand. Let's hope Special Teams is about as much action as we see out of him...

That really sucks. However I agree with earlier posts that Slowick and Son-of-Slowick may have made Fox look worse than he is. I'm not expecting much, though.

12-15-2009, 12:53 PM
Well who else would you guys want? It's the end of the season and not much out there. I can't think of any other players at another position that would help the team.

There are lots of serviceable backups/special team types that get cut and don't get picked up until injuries start to happen.

McAlister has been a Saint since mid-November.

why would that stop Mock from just jumping down managements throat?

At least it's just a broken arm, and not something that will drag into next season. The kid looks solid so far.

I pointed out that he was out there when we picked up Law. The Saints picked up Chris McAlister Nov 19 and then Mike McKenzie Nov 22. We signed Law around the 7th. Not really a big deal but McKenzie would have been the better pick up out of the three IMO. Chris McAlister has played under Nolan though so maybe he would have picked up the system faster.

Hence... why not move him out of SLOT CB, and to safety.

maybe i dont understand this side of defense well, but dont our third CB and third safety have similar roles on this defense?

Fox was in camp, so at least knows some of the system is my guess of why he was signed. I will be surprised though if he is anything more than a special teams player, minus injuries of course.

I'll get to see Suh up close and personal. I live in St. Louis. Not that I've been to a Rams game since the Broncos were here last. That's all they are talking about here. The chance to draft yet another D-lineman number 1. Hope he's no Jimmy Kennedy, Damiane Lewis or Long.
