View Full Version : How will Nolan Cover Clark Sunday?

Dallas Clark is the key to Indy's offense, he can run all the routes, get down the seam, create seperation and make the big catch. He is not the greatest run blocker but he can seal the edge enough on their power trap plays to give their backs a hole.

Who do we have to put on Clark to slow him down?

Any thoughts on how Nolan will cover Clark in the 3-4?

Thoughts?

The same we went about Antonio Gates I believe a mixture of Wesley Woodyard and Josh Barrett and general zone coverage.

Tony Scheffler plays both ways on Sunday.

He could throw a big wool blanket on him. Someone did that to me once and it took like 5 minutes for me to get out.

Bronco Warrior will be signed. In his BYU days, he was an all-world defender.

I've been happy with Barret's man coverage on TE's this year. In fact he has been exceptional at it. Whether or not he is exceptional at it against Dallas Clark is tougher to predict.

Hillis

I think this is a good idea, except for the fact that Hillis would actually be better suited covering wayne, returning kicks, returning punts and carrying the ball 45 times.

I just don't think he could cover Wayne and Clark at the same time. Although, I wouldn't put anything past him. HE is more than capable of handling complex game plans and understanding what he is asked to do. He is sort of a coach on the field if you will.

The only problem is that Manning can see who Hillis is covering and than just go to the other guy. I am afraid this is the weak where Hillis will be exposed a bit.

Send Clark tainted rocky mountain oysters. Make him so sick he misses the game, but recovers miraculously when the game clock hits 0:00.

I'll tell you the way you beat Clark...with a stick...while he sleeps.

Send him to a pawnshop in southcentral LA, where a redneck sherrif keeps a gimp in a rubber suit in the basement. Clark will become the new gimp, missing the game.

You can't guard Hawkeye Greats, you can only hope to contain him.

I have no idea, and I don't even know how well Clark is doing this year. But it does speak to his talent level if he is still posting big numbers. He used to be one of many weapons, and often took advantage of being covered by linebackers. People would forget about him sometimes. Now, he is more of a focal point and I would assume that teams have started putting safeties or nickel backs on him. I sure as hell hope Woodyard is not covering him.

He is first in catches, 2nd in yards, and 5th in TDs among all TE this year. He is having a monster year, and all that after his 2 for 20 yd game last week.... He is going to be hard to contain

77catches 859 yds and 5 TDs

Exposed? Let me guess you actually think that SCHMEGMA test means anything at all. How come no one else ever took it, and how come I have a source that says Hillis has the authority to override any calls that come in from Nolan during the game? He's not getting exposed. What a joke.

He won't, Nolan doesn't play defense, he just runs our defense, silly!

Nolan's 40 time isn't very impressive but he's got game speed. I think we'll be fine.

i am betting we see a lot of Barrett and Woodyard going against Clark.

that seems to be the combination of players we use when we play elite TEs
