Networks Finally Cover ClimateGate

Alexandria, VA – The world has been laughing at the broadcast network news shows for not reporting the great and growing ClimateGate scandal. It took two weeks, but NBC, ABC and CBS finally did over the weekend. In so doing, they showed that when it comes to the global warming debate, they are part of the Flat Earth Society.

ABC finally reported on ClimateGate on Sunday. But they provided no specifics from the reams of emails and data from East Anglia University that caused the scandal, and concluded their report with the flatly incorrect assertion “The science is solid, according to a vast majority of researchers, with hotter temperatures, melting glaciers, and rising sea level providing the proof.”

NBC reported on ClimateGate on both Friday and Sunday. On Friday they fretted that the scandal may end up “giving politicians from coal and oil-producing states another reason to delay taking action to reduce emissions.” And on Sunday they assured viewers “the evidence is overwhelming that man is behind climate change.”

Neither ABC nor NBC noted that many of the “vast majority of researchers” to which they refer are at the heart of the ClimateGate data distortions and cover-up, and the “overwhelming” “evidence” they cite may very well have been tampered with by these researchers.

CBS did a decent report on Saturday, but aired it on a show they knew their college football coverage blackout would prevent most Americans from seeing.

What does Rupert Murdoch get from promoting the anti-global warming movement? It plays well to the uninformed, of course, the tea baggers, the anti-government militants, republican politicos and their wanna-be's (Palin) and wall street profiteers. Oil and coal are the cash cows they want to protect, it fuels their greed for wealth and power, for ensuring they can protect the monied interests of the green house poluters.

Like everything else on their agenda, it all comes down to manipulating the public into thinking they are protecting the interests of the majority of "right thinking" Americans. When even that group starts to recognize the seas are rising and icecaps are melting even faster than predicted it will be too late for the rest of us, we and millions others will be made to suffer from their stupidity.

We're not the last generation to occupy Earth, but we're closer to recognizing there is a limit to what science can do to protect the lives and livelihood of the next few generations.

Water, land, oil, gas and coal are but some of the commodities that are not in unlimited supply. A calamity awaits and it may not be in the form of the biblican Armegeddon, ours will be longer and more torturist.

What I hope for, and what folks need to work for is getting a viable choice to vote for next time around -- and for me that means small government (not Bush-like) and one that actually believes in the Constitution -- I would be surprised if we could find a "radical" like that in America anymore ... but we in my opinion cannot budge on these very important things -- regardless of what freaking lable they have.

The fact MSNBC, NBC, CBS, CNN, CNBC, ABC etc have shown the capacity to bury their collective heads up the President's and this administration ass and not report serious issues as this country stands at such a critical time is unforgiveable and really what concerns me most. When we can't get a straight answer and huge events go unreported during such corruption reminds me of the days of the cold war where we pittied the poor bastards in Russia dealing with their iron fisted leaders.
