Get Quentin Griffin a uniform and do not, I repeat, do NOT let Roc Alexander within 100 miles of Lucas Oil Stadium...

Pearl of advice: NEVER, er, ALWAYS touch the WR after a catch, even if you see him down on the turf.

I see it a little bit differently. We don't necessarily have to win this game to make the playoffs. I wouldn't throw any new wrinkles into the offense until playoff time...

One thing I am so hoping we do is to play an aggressive man to man. I am so sick and tired of watching our guys get picked apart by Manning playing 10 yards off in creampuff zones. Id rather see Wayne burn Champ deep than to give up easy chunks. I want it to be, if a Colt receiver makes a catch, its with a white jersey all over him. Make them earn what they get. NO GIMMES!

i predict he and Nolan break doiwn film from prior NE-Indy games and make a gameplan precisely to go after what they perceive as weaknesses in Indy. also, for a 12-0 team, they are weak in quite a few areas, especially defensively.

i agree that McDaniels is going to have a full all out gameplan for Indy though.

Can Buck pass? That would make the Wildhorse very interesting.....

i truly think Royal is the key to really opening up that Wildhorse formation. runs or passes, i think he needs to be more involved in that formation.

The odds are against us, but we match up well with them and have decent shot. Good secondary against inexperienced receivers. Their defensive ends are banged up and they don't have Sanders. We have the type of offense that can keep Manning off the field and a secondary that can weather the storm. I'm not going to predict a win, but I will predict we'll do better than we usually did when Shanahan was coach.

I don't mean to lay a whammy on us but this feels like the beginning of the season again

we handled a couple of teams we should have (Giants are debatable, but they are overrated also) and have a game where we are underdogs

I love it, if it brings back the beginning of the year mojo...they have no shot :wiggle:

One thing that we've really struggled with is when teams go hurry-up and keep our base defense on the field for 3rd downs. Manning is the absolute king of this, as soon as he sees Haggan and Davis on the field at the same time he'll go in the no huddle and find those mismatches.

We've also looked pretty poor defending the run with our nickel defense, so if we throw that out there as our base D then they'll feed Addai and go at us like that.

Unless we fix at least one of those issues, we're in for some serious assforking on Sunday.

My guess is that we play a bend but don't break style of D. Nothing too elaborate or overly aggressive, maybe dial up the odd blitz on 3rd down. We're a pretty good redzone defense, if we can hold them to FG's and get a ground game going on offense then we'll have a shot at this game.

My fears exactly. Our D has been extremely effective when they have time to substitute, match up personnel, and dial up exotic blitzes. However, in the hurry-up, our nickel has been torched by the run, and our base D can't get any pressure in the passing game. I'm afraid that Peyton is going to take advantage of the same weaknesses that showed up in the 4 game losing streak. I think I'm just gun-shy after all the poundings we've received at the hands of the Colts.

With that being said, this D has surprise me all year. Here's hoping they have another one in store.

Yeah, because making the playoffs is a sure thing for us this year and thus we shouldn't try whatever we can to to win the game. That's weak bro.

the refs will be trying to assist the Colts in any way they can. don't forget that we have to overcome that too.

did everyone see the 60 minutes interview with the NBA ref who was betting on games? well, i don't see how the NBA can have problems with refs playing favorites and the NFL doesn't.

some teams get calls that other don't. some players are considered "important" to the league. pumpkin/fetus-head is one of them. expect lots of whining by pumpkin/fetus-head and a few calls going his way as a result. PI. looking at the QB with malice in their eyes. defensive holding. etc..

This is what we need. At least when you cover them close, it's easier to make the tackle. We were playing so far off them in those days, they were automatically in the open field after an easy catch.

They are ranked last in rushing. My guess is we won't need both Haggan and Davis in at the same time for much of the game. I think you will see Woodyard and Smith used alot in this game.

I hope we do play man to man tight coverage. Peyton knows how to throw the ball vs zones

Exactly! if we don't sign Dawkins we are what many here thought we were a 6 and 10 team.

I wonder if Philly had Brian Dawkins threads like we had Jay Cutler threads.
