If the Ravens lose this it's HUGE for is because it guarantees either the Ravens or Steelers will finish 9-7 - meaning we should be able to finish 10-6 and make the playoffs (I can't see the Jaguars running the table with Indy/NE/Miami still on their schedule)... aka if we take care of KC/Oakland we should be in. I'd still like us to go 11-5...

But still. This game is HUGE for us.

A Packers win will make the playoffs an exponentially bigger possibility for us.

Oh... and the Ravens are @ Green Bay and w/o Suggs or Reed today. If the Packers lose at home with those two out of the game I'll vomit.

GOOOOOOO MOTHER****ING Packers!

UberBroncoMan
12-07-2009, 04:52 PM
Oh I should also add... if we finish 10-6 (with wins over KC/Oakland) we will win the tiebreaker over Miami/NYJ for AFC record...

This means the WC will be between Steelers/Ravens (winner - if they both run the table outside of their game) - Broncos - Jaguars.

If Broncos lose to Indy the Jaguars will face Indy backups... if we beat Indy, then the Jaguars face Indy starters who are trying to clinch home field... and hey if we beat Indy I don't see how we miss the playoffs anyway.

Beating Indy is actually HUGE for us, because it likely means a Jaguars loss the following week, which means we've pretty much got the cat in the bag. It also means there's a chance we could still take the division from SD since they have 2 losable games ahead of them.

Anyway... if Ravens lose tonight, and both us and the Jaguars lose two of our last four, we're in the playoffs.

Actually I fully expect them to rest some guys. Especially the guys with a few dings. They know full well that they can clinch home field quite easily even if they lose to us. They won't risk guys further aggravating injuries just to clinch against us instead of a week or two later.

Lets hope the refs keep doing that because a Baltimore loss eliminates them or Pitt from making the playoffs based on who loses their head to head games.

This is soooo good for the Broncos. Almost guarantees that with two more wins, we are in. 10 wins and we're in.

We are GUARANTEED to make the playoffs with 10 wins if the Jaguars fall to 9-7 (which is possible since 3 of their final 4 games are vs New England, Indy, and Miami).

... if Green Bay beats the Steelers next week and the Steelers beat the Ravens, (which means they both finish 9-7) then we make the playoffs at 10 wins regardless.

If we go 1-3 for our final 4 games though, I'd say we're guaranteed to miss the playoffs.

Things are looking really good for us at the moment if we can take care of Oakland and KC at home... pick up 1 win at Indy/Philly on top of those two and we are in the playoffs regardless.

UberBroncoMan

It will be VERY important that the Steelers win that game if they lose to Green Bay next week because it means both of them won't hit 10 wins.
