View Full Version : I just bought "Rules for Radicals"
Curious how many have heard of it, or who have read it? Anyone have a sense how much (or little) it has influenced thinking of the far, far left -- if at all since it was written? (in about 1971.) :peace:

Interesting...you should keep commenting about what you read in this thread so that we can discuss it.

Good. Please report on whatever you learn.
Back in the 1970s Alinsky tried to recruit a good friend of mine -- to go to Chicago and learn the rules for radicals.

And coming from a guy who constantly whines about images. Ha!

I know where I stand, but not the appeal of Communism (or at least some elements of it.) One can better fight those ideas (that I think are being used to undermine our country) if we at least have read some of the basics...
First, I do not know how pervasive this man’s views are in the thinking of some on the far left.
Secondly, I think folks should not only know what they believe, but why -- and if I only read from those authors that agree with me, then I am not intellectually challenging myself very much.
