Yes, its obvious we don't have enough fumblers who can't pick up their pass pro assignments getting regular snaps behind center.

I'm probably the longest tenured Hillis booster on this board but the guy obviously isn't going to get asked into MENSA any time soon. I doubt he's in the doghouse as much as McDaniels understands that Hillis' problems largely stem from a lack of understanding. He's given him time to get up to speed mentally.

If he was really in the doghouse he'd have been dumped in favor of a street FA veteran. We've left him on the roster, typically active on Sundays. McDaniels is just giving Hillis enough time to digest what is a very complex set of roles he needs to fill within this offense. Today we could afford to give him some game action thanks to a runaway win, hopefully he sees more time in a similar role over the next few weeks leading into the playoffs, at which point we can unveil a coached up Hillis in a real big time game.

How to pass pro, run a route, cover up the ball in key situations, things like that.

He ran over the chefs in garbage time. If you tried that against a good run D he'd be getting stuffed more than not, largely because until he has the previously mentioned skills he's a big fat waving flag that we're running up the gut.

He's developing. Today was a good sign in that McDaniels went to him and not LaMont Jordan. I take it to mean that Hillis' overall game has been looking better in practice and McDaniels rewarded him for it. But lets enjoy the baby steps before asking him to run.

I repeat ( give the guy some reps) and saying he gets stuffed vs a better D is pure speculation.

I repeat ( give the guy some reps) and saying he gets stuffed vs a better D is pure speculation.

They did give him more reps earlier in the season. He didn't run the right routes, he misses pass pro assignments, he failed to line up correctly straight out of the huddle, and he didn't break any big plays at all.

McDaniels saw that he was playing over his head, so he sat him down. He obviously hadn't given up on him, if he had he would've been cut. Instead he apparently kept working with him and was just looking for a good chance to give him confidence rebuilding touches. He got some of those today.

This isn't Mike Shanahan where we keep a guy on the roster who never contributes for the entire season because he's in Shanahan's doghouse. McDaniels just replaces them. Hillis didn't get replaced, therefore he wasn't in the doghouse, just obviously limited in his capabilities. McDaniels didn't even turn to Jordan for a second today so maybe he thinks Hillis is now ready for action and this was his best chance at getting him some live action before the stretch run.

But there is no signs that McDaniels gave up on him or was misusing him. He just didn't keep an obviously pressing player on the field when he needed time to get his game back on track.

Were those against Clady? I don't remember. Kyle held on to the ball too long. But I suppose when you have Clady you can get away with it. Guess he just didn't have a great game today.

Only one of the sacks was against Clady and it was on the opposite side of the feild..chased down a stupid Orton...the others weren't on him..not even close!

That's what people seem to keep saying anyway. I think Buck is just quicker than Moreno is.

Moreno has had an ok game though, but Buckhalter is looking great.

Go back and look at two of his long runs. He had huge holes to run through. Moreno did good, not great, but not bad either. Regardless, they both were hitting people and moving them backwards. It's a good problem to have at RB.

But during the game, Vrabel appeared to have a problem with it. Frustration manifested itself Bud Adams style, by Vrabel flipping the bird in the direction of the Broncos bench after Moreno's touchdown run. He continued to walk back to the bench in obvious frustration.

B-Marsh with 7 catches for 94 yards and a TD....that gives him 65 catches for 808 yards and 7 TDs (ties his career high) on the year.

Back in training camp, if you would have told me he would have had those stats 12 games into the season, I would have been surprised and elated.

Knowshon with 86 yards rushing and 2 TDs....that gives him 774 rushing yards and 6 TDs (5 rushing and 1 receiving) on the year.

4 straight games of 80+ yards rushing for Knowshon....I bet he ends up with around 1100 yards rushing and 9 to 10 TDs on the year.

Dumervil notched his 15th sack on the year....one away from Simon Fletcher's single season record of 16 sacks, set in 1992.

It disappoints me that the only one capable of stopping Hillis....is McDaniel's! Thats alright though.....if you have talent the truth will come out. Eventually McDaniel's will allow for Peyton to showcase his talents or some other team in the NFL will benefit from Hilli's talent.

Point is, 3rd or 4th qtr garbage time or not, teams around the NFL will take notice of Hillis talents and his opportunity to showcase his talents will come shortly. Hopefully its with Denver.:strong:
