OAKLAND, Calif. -- Disgruntled Raiders fans are making a high-profile plea for owner Al Davis to step down as the team's general manager.

A billboard was posted on the freeway near the Oakland Coliseum this week, saying "MR. DAVIS, DO THE RIGHT THING, PLEASE HIRE A GM."

The group that put up the billboard says it has gathered 21,000 signatures for a petition asking Davis to step down as general manager. The petition also calls on Davis to hire a new GM and a Super Bowl-caliber coach and "agree to refrain from intervention in personnel or football operational matters."

The Raiders (3-8) have won three Super Bowls under Davis' leadership but appear headed to a seventh consecutive losing season. Oakland's 27-80 record since the start of the 2003 season is the worst in the NFL.

The whole thing is silly though. It's not like Al Davis can even read from a moving vehicle. He'll miss it.

I find it hard to believe that faider fan was able to come up with any money in the first place, let alone enough to pay for a billboard.

They traded food stamps and peddled crack.

I wonder if Davis's people filter these things from him. He might not see the billboard but SOMEONE is going to see it and have the opportunity to relay it up the chain. I wonder if anything like that just gets stomped out. If so, he is truly Mr. Burns.

The billboard idea worked in Buffalo...took a few weeks, but worked nonetheless.

Greasy Al will find out who the fans are that did that, then he'll send Cable over to their houses to kick their asses.

Then he will sue them, and fire them for cause.

After awhile you have to feel sorry for the real raider fans. They have been stuck with that POS Davis, may he live forever, for longer than most Raider fans can remember.

I respect the fans who contributed to the billboard. It must be frustrating knowing every first round pick will be a bust... well every pick will be a bust. It must be frustrating know EVERY pick will be a bust. It must be frustrating to have every FA be a massive bust. It must be frustrating knowing you had Randy freaking Moss and did not do a single thing with the talent he had.

I was thinking the same thing, plus 21,000 with brains enough to realize that Al Davis is the problem, not the refs

What are they going to say to them? Walk up to the most powerful man in the organization and say,"Hey. Your customers think you suck."? I think in the best of corporate worlds that isn't going to get you anything but a termination, much less the Oakland Raiders.

You've got to drink the kool-aid to work for Al.

Buckets of it.

I don't know.... billboards are pretty old school. It may actually catch Al's attention as opposed to words coming out of the internets.

Who am I kidding.

Need something more like the old Berma-Shave billboards:

Example:

You

Are

Senile

Don't

Die

Though

We

Love

The Raduhs

Sucking

ARE THEY SERIOUS!??
Possibly the most AMATEUR, HORIFIC ABUSE of Photoshop I have EVER seen!

Makes me wonder if they are going to "ramp up" the pressure on Al this week?
