This game has implications for us, obviously. I've heard varying opinions on what helps us more. What do you think?

Should be a hard-hitting game. Looking forward to it.

For what it's worth, Pitt looks to have the easiest schedule left in that division. Cincinnati plays a few tough opponents.

I don't know, I was hoping someone could point it out for me. ;D I don't know who to root for.

That said, if we take care of business were in, no matter what the other teams do. And I'm not giving up on the division just yet. If we win the three games against the West and one of the Colts/Philly games, we take it. Big IF though.

A Pittsburgh win is best in my book.

If Pittsburgh wins that means Baltimore can at most get 10 wins and with away games at Pittsburgh and Green Bay coming up even that is unlikely so they are all but out of the wild card race.

Currently only 3 none division leaders in the AFC have 6 or more wins and with a Baltimore loss that would remain the case.

Of those 3 Jacksonville is at 6-5 but they have yet to play both Indy and Houston and should finish no better than 10-6.

Essentially a Pittsburgh win and all but some miracles makes the AFC Wild card race a 3 horse derby with Pittsburgh, us and Jacksonville. I believe we can finish better than Jacksonville and thereby go to the playoffs regardless of divisional standing. If Baltimore wins that leaves 2 teams to compete with for wild card spot if we can't overtake San Diego and both teams would have the head to head tie breaker.

I'm trying to save hope for the division but I just can't, especially after the beating SD handed to the Chiefs today. I'm sure the Chargers will lose again, but really they don't have any games they should lose. Maybe Dallas, but still, I doubt it.

This coupled with the fact that we will probably go 3-2, if we are lucky 4-1. And as it looks now, there is just no way in hell I see us beating the Colts.

That said, it's really tough to choose who to root for tonight. I really would enjoy the Steelers losing, but it's really hard to figure out how things are going to play out in that division. I'm going to guess Cincy wins it since they have the tiebreaker over the Steelers, so I guess I'm hoping for Baltimore.

Chargers are very beatable, and they won't stay this hot forever. I think they MAY lose three more, against Dallas, Cinci and Tennessee. I highly doubt it, but it's possible. I'd say about 60% chances they lose two more. That means we'll have to go 4-1 which will be tough, but possible too.

Anyway, they are only one game up with 5 to go. Stranger things have happened.

That Washington game really hurts now.

Losing the division this year would suck balls too... but it will be a lot less painful if we get a wildcard. We're in good shape now... we just CAN'T lose against KC or Oak. No letdowns, no trap games. Just win! Other than SD winning, this was a good weekend for us.

I say Pitt winning is best.

Why you ask?

If Pitt wins this game AND beats Balt again at home - that puts Balt to a guaranteed 7 losses meaning if we finish 10-6 we should get the final Wild Card spot.

Look at Balt's schedule and tell me they should lose the other games? Oakland? Detroit? Chicago?... Green Bay seems like the only other tough game.

Pitt doesn't exactly have a "hard" schedule the rest of the way either. So the best thing that could happen is the currently better record team to sweep the other... thus being Pitt.

Seeing as how both Pitt and Balt beat us we don't want to be in a scenario where both of them are 10-6 because we're the odd team out.

So Pittsburgh drive to their own 40 with about 35 seconds left and one timeout. Then they ran the clock out to go to halftime. Why not try to gain a mere 20 more yards in order to get into long FG range??

Because I don't see us beating the Colts @ Indy, nor do I honestly see us beating the Eagles @ Philly.

If Balt loses both games to Pitt we can end up 10-6 and still get the Wild Card.

If not it's highly likely that we will need to be 11-5.

Balt doesn't have a "rough" schedule ahead of them. Not even.

They face the LIONS, BEARS, RAIDERS (oh my)... they also have the Packers and the Steelers again.

I can see Balt winning 4 of those 5.

Thus if they win this game that puts them at 10 wins (and I see us with 10) and they win the tie-breaker.

Realistically I think the best way we can get in is with Balt being limited to only 9 wins.

Losing vs the pathetic Redskins is what's f'ed us. We win that game and I'm not that worried about making the playoffs.

Anybody want to explain why the FG attempt came from the 37 @ the spot of the recovery and not @ the 43 where Flacco fumbled? I thought that the Holy Roller rule stated that if the offense recovers a fumble within the last two minutes it goes back to the spot of the fumble unless the fumbler recovers the ball. Although if I'm a Steeler fan I'd be pissed as **** if the refs stop the clock to re-spot the ball and move it back 6 yds. Still, I'd rather have them attempt a 60yd FG than a 54yder.
