Palin had announced on Twitter that she would be running the 5k race organized by the Benton-Franklin Chapter of the Red Cross.

She didn’t finish the race, opting to leave the course early to avoid more crowds at the end. About 40 minutes into the run, word started trickling out to people gathered at the finish line that she was gone.

Hilarious!

There's a lot of smart people that I respect that thinks she is going to run (ie, Nate Silver at 538), but I don't think so.

Running in a primary is serious work. Day in day out in rural Iowa for months on end, 10-12 hour days. Just star power doesn't work there come election day, ask Hillary.

I still think even if she doesn't run she has enough power to drag national candidates down with her. They'll be forced to go wing-nut Right to appease her crowd and it will kill them in the general.

Yeah I hate her. She is the reason I didn't vote for President last election. I just made a decision I could not support her being one accident away from President.

I admit I'm a little worried about Obama. He seems a little in over his head. He wasn't real experienced, JR senators don't really have that much to do.

What do you really feel Frerotte, do you think Obama making smart decisions?

LOL it was either put Palin one step away, or Pelosi 2 steps away. Eeesh the horror. Do I remember that right. Speaker of House 3rd in line right?

Hard to fathom Pelosi could actually be President if the secret service keeps letting people just waltz into white house dinners and take picture with VP etc.

What the hell was up with that?

Well, there's a lot to that.

I think on HCR he is. If you look at the track record on HCR since WWII, it's fail, fail, fail, fail, fail, fail, fail. I think he'll get a bill passed with some good substance, some not so good, but a platform to work from. I think given the system and the money used against this, that would be a big win within a year.

I think on financial reform, it's TBD. There's a couple of good bills in the House & Senate. This will be the next big fight.

On the economy in general, I think he is. I also agreed with a lot of Paulson back in the day, the TARP saved our collapse, despite it being done so poorly. I did and do support the stimulus bill.

On civil rights, it's TBD. Rumors are that DADT's repeal will be in the next DoD bill. I'm okay with that, but can't give a thumbs up yet since we're too far away. DOMA also needs to be repealed. We'll see.

On the foreign front, I generally support it.

Generally speaking, we're not as viewed as evil America like before.

We're working with China on climate, working with Russia on a number of fronts.

Gitmo will be closed and will be a major accomplishment. The Right will highlight the missed timeline, but the policy is more important than missing an artificial timeline by 3-6 months to me.

Iraq is going well.

Afghan/Pakistan, I layed out in another thread. Two things need to be accomplished, securing Pakistan's 200 nukes and having an end game. We will see, not easy stuff.

Many other things, but that's enuf for now.

Makes me nervous. So many nuts want them dead.

I did lol @ the WH releasing the photo with Obama and them as an official WH photo. They had a good sense of humor about it.

Lol, I'm not in the greatest of shape, but I wouldn't have a problem running a 5k, that's like 3 miles for Christ's sake. I sure wouldn't quit in the middle of it. Maybe she can get Eddie Kennison as her running mate. ROFL! Hilarious!

She'll run alright...but just like here, she won't finish.
