I don't see any threads about Matt Roth. Any talk of the Broncos having interest in Roth after the Dolphins waived him?

He is far from soft man. He wanted a new contract and basically used fake injuries instead of a holdout so he would dodge the fines. They pupd him.

Roth will be a good addition to the team that picks him up.

I hope he is claimed off waivers by KC. We could use him.

Is that what went down there? That was most confusing. I know I was really high on the kid coming out of college. If attitude isn't a problem he'll offer more than Jarvis at the very least, and possibly be an upgrade over Hagan. Or maybe spell Elvis on the other side? Not sure how they used him in Miami.

He plays on the same side as Reid and Haggen. Those two combined are having the same type of season Roth had last year. He could bring fresh legs to a tired D and he may give us advantage when teams do go no huddle vs us. It seems like Haggen is in on more running downs while Reid is better at rushing the passer.

Odd saga comes to an end as Miami Dolphins cut Matt Roth
The Dolphins cut linebacker Matt Roth, but said it was based on performance and not on lingering feelings from an odd training camp situation.

A strange, four-month span for Dolphins linebacker Matt Roth came to an unexpected conclusion Tuesday -- the team has decided to move forward without him.

Roth, who became the center of an odd saga when he missed all of training camp with a groin injury, was released after totaling just four combined tackles during his four games this season.

The move was ``strictly a football decision,'' one source said. Although no other outside factors are believed to have contributed to his departure, the drama of training camp surely will follow Roth in the wake of Miami's choice to cut him.

It's a saga that has remained mostly unexplained. When Roth arrived for training camp this year, he blamed a failed conditioning test on being ill -- only to later come forward with an admission about a groin injury.

After trainers struggled to diagnose the issue, Roth was sent to Philadelphia to meet with a leading groin specialist, Dr. William Meyers. The evaluation did not reveal any significant issues, and Roth returned with what seemed to be an optimistic report.

But according to multiple sources at the time, Roth continued to sit out of practice. with no further explanation other than to say his groin was still sore. The strange situation caused the team to go forward without him, moving Jason Taylor into the strong-side linebacker role where Roth served as a starter throughout 2008.

On Oct. 31, Roth was reactivated to the 53-man roster, seeming to regain his standing with the team. That decision served as the last formal move until Tuesday's announcement by Miami that he had been cut.

The most recent source to speak on the situation stressed that Roth's departure was based strictly on Miami's plans for the future, as well as Roth's performance -- but that it was not a result of any lingering feelings from the training camp situation.

let me be very clear with this:

He has to clear waivers up to your team to have any chance at being claimed. Whatever teams want him, put in a claim for him and it goes by current record as to who is awarded him (after week 6, before week 6 it goes by last years record)

That means that currently 18 teams (not even counting tie brakers, which I believe go by win % of opponents) would have to pass on picking up his minimal remaining partial year of his contract in which he will be in "full contract year ultra mode" looking for his new contract.

Established starting calibur defenders dont go that far into the waiver wire. It should be interesting to see where he goes.

My $$$ is on Detroit or Cleveland

In short, there is about as much a chance he clears waivers up to the Broncos as a snowball has a chance of making it in Oakland.

weird thing about him is at Iowa he was a hard working blue collar guy. Not sure what happened down in Miami, but he was one of my favorite Hawkeyes. I say give him a look, he has a lot of talent.

Waiver claim order for today on former Dolphins LB Matt Roth is Browns, Bucs, Rams, Lions. So if Browns want Roth, Browns have Roth.

So he lied and was deceiving about injuries that didnt happen so he can still get paid and not perform. Yeah, that is someone I want as a Bronco. He can go to Raiderville.

The greatness of the Raidah's lies in the ability to get disgruntled dumb asses to sign for less money to exact no revenge. Come to the Raidah's baby! Commitment to kissing my ass!

After one game everyone here would be loving him.

Nobody knows the reasons for what was done. He is a character guy from what I remember of him from Iowa. I talked to him a few times and he isnt the brightest crayola in the box, but is one hell of a football player.

80% of the time, when a player makes a questionable off the field decision, it is because of his agents "guidance" and I wouldnt be surprised if his actions were from an agents suggestion.
