If we hadn't given the Redskins the gift FG by going for it on fourth down, we'd have only been behind by one score on our last possession. I thought it was a poor choice.

Of course, our D couldn't stop the run today. Sort of looked like last year.

We should've ran a fake punt on that 4th down.

wouldn't have made any difference, the way our offense was playing they could have given us 6 downs and we wouldn't have made it.

Going on 4th was absolutely the right call. If we had punted the ball the Skins would have drained the time against a defense that could barely stand up. Losing by 7 or 10 is the same, at least we took a chance and if we had a QB it might have worked.

But if we could have 3 and outed them, we would have had plenty of time to tie the game.

The throw was so awful ... that was all on Simms, can't blame Josh. A halfway-decent throw and the drive stays alive.

How's Berger's arm?

We should've ran a fake FG, motion into a fake punt then rollout to the right and have Berger throw a 35 yard pass across his body on that 4th down.

fixed it for you

Were you watching the same game everyone else was? Their OL was completely dominating our front 7.

Odds were very much in favor of WSH just running out the clock. We only had 1 TO and the 2 minute warning.

With the way our D was getting handled, it was the right call to go for it.

I agree that the D sucked today. But it's still the play to make.

You'd think that someone with your vast football knowledge would realize that if you keep the score within one score, you have a better chance to win.

Going on 4th down by Bill is a biggest mistake

you're the dimwit with the vast football knowledge theorizing we would have gotten the ball back. good lord. dumbest thread ever. So tell me old wise one, we would have gotten the ball back on our 20 with no timeouts and what 30 seconds left? Yeah great odds. And this with a QB incapable of completing a pass. Going for it was the absolute right call.

I am pretty sure they still would have been in field goal range after a Berger punt. :)

I thought he crapped his pants in the 2nd half with his play calling. Knowshon was running great... like, about to break one at any time. And then he stops running the ball. Plenty of time left to mix it up after their go ahead TD and he throws the ball 4 straight downs. I think everyone got to see first hand how much more effective Kyle Orton is in this offense. I'd take Brandstater over Simms.

We probably would have had about a minute left, since the FG came with 1:10 left. And I wouldn't say Simms is incapable of completing a pass, but I would say that he's got a better chance of completing 1 out of 4, than the very next pass.

Plus, while our D and special teams were weak yesterday, the D has been the strength of the team this year. You have to give them a chance to win the game for you. Or maybe even get lucky on a turnover on the punt.

Wrong decision? They had no choice but to go for it, but in any event, they weren't going to win with Simms back there playing so horribly. That hail mary pass to Marshall where there were 3 defenders back there took the cake, on a 1st down no less. Who the hell does that?
