My grandma always told me: Never eat popcorn after picking a wedgie, do not trust people in capes except superman, & always fear a man who once wore or still has a neckbeard.

So far this advice has gotten me to the age of 24,,,, just sayin.

Orton shaves beard in effort to help break losing streak

ENGLEWOOD – Kyle Orton is a bit superstitious, he admitted. After the Denver Broncos lost their second straight game the quarterback shaved off the beard he had been growing since the beginning of the season.

“Lost two games in a row, might as well change it up,” Orton said.

The Broncos have plenty of things that need to be changed going into Sunday’s game against Washington. Denver looked at the film of Monday night’s loss to Pittsburgh and aren’t dwelling on it.

“I’ve moved on from Pittsburgh,” Orton said.

Players and coaches admitted the offense has to be more balanced after the run game has struggled two straight weeks. Defensively, adjustments will be made. Safety Brian Dawkins wondered if players are trying to do too much on defense.

One thing the Broncos promise not to do is overlook the 2-6 Redskins. Denver needs a win to avoid losing any more ground to the surging Chargers in the AFC West.

“It’s a team that if you take them lightly, you can go down there and get your tail beat,” running back Correll Buckhalter said. “We’ll prepare through the week to go there and have a good game.”

Remember he STARTS each season clean shaven and then the beard grows... it truly reached full capacity the last two games.

Coincidence I think not!

I never liked him in the first place. We always knew what Orton was. A decent QB who can't win if it's on his shoulders. I'd much rather have Orton or Brandstater at this point.

did you miss the Dallas and NE games?

he carried us to victory and flat out outplayed the man many believe is the best QB in the league.

people need to grow some ****ing brains here. he is 6-2. he had a bad game, every QB has a bad game once in awhile. Cutler had ****ty games every couple weeks but was always forgiven for them because of the potential he possessed when he had proven nothing else. Orton has a ****ty game in the middle of a 6-2 season and so many are ready to toss him aside because of that.

also, the fact that Hamilton has been replaced, shows that the line play is a big reason as to why our offense and Orton have struggled the last couple weeks. you can't throw the ball well if a defender is on your ass the moment the ball is snapped. you can't run the ball if the defense is on our RBs the second they get the ball into their hands. fix the interior line play and the offense will begin clicking.

If Cutler had Moreno, A healthy Hillis and Buckhalter with Nolan's D, Denver could be 8-0.

Think about it. Nolan was fired.

It really depends on how much credence you put into Josh's defensive moves/ and/ or/ luck like the Gaff TD or the Marshall miracle.

The stone cold fact is WE COULD OF DRAFTED HIM.\

Freeman originally committed to the University of Nebraska to play for former head coach Bill Callahan, but the newly hired head coach at Kansas State, Ron Prince, convinced Freeman to enroll at Kansas State instead.

As a freshman in 2006, Freeman appeared in 11-of-13 games, including starts in the final eight contests of the season. He took over at quarterback during the second half at Baylor and directed the Kansas State offense the rest of the season. He was the only true freshman quarterback in the country to lead his team to a bowl game during 2006. He also passed for a Kansas State freshman record 1,780 yards on 140-of-270 passing (52%). He became the first true freshman to start a game at Kansas State since 1976. Additionally, he had consecutive 250+ yard passing games against Colorado and Texas, marking the first time a Kansas State quarterback had done so since Michael Bishop in 1998. He attempted a Kansas State freshman-record 47 passes against Nebraska, completing 23 for 272 yards. He earned his first career start against Oklahoma State and led the Wildcats to a comeback win. He finished the game 10-for-15 passing for 177 yards and ran for a game-winning 21-yard touchdown with 1:11 to go in the game. In 2007, he set new single-season school records for pass attempts, completions and yards after throwing for 3,353 yards and 18 touchdowns on 316-of-499 passing. In 2008, Freeman was 224 of 382 passing for 2,945 yards and 20 touchdowns and eight interceptions this season for a passer rating of 132.9. The 14 rushing touchdowns were the fourth-most in a single season by a Wildcat quarterback.[3]

In his three year collegiate career, Freeman completed 680 passes for 8,078 yards and 44 touchdowns and 34 interceptions with 35 career games. He set a school-record 8,427 total yards and joins Ell Roberson as the only quarterbacks in Kansas State history to be responsible for at least 60 touchdowns.

Freeman's brother, Caleb Freeman, was recruited to Missouri to play linebacker in 2008. He was red-shirted.[4]

[edit] Professional career
Freeman was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first round (17th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft. The Bucs have reportedly agreed to terms with Freeman on a five-year, $13.5 million contract, including $10.245 million in guarantees. The deal could balloon to as much as $36 million. [6] On November 8, 2009, Freeman started his first professional game at home against the Green Bay Packers, coincidentally the first game the Bucs wore their old "creamsicle" jerseys since December 1996. The Buccaneers won, ending an 11-game losing streak. He completed 14 out of 31 passes for 205 yards, 1 INT, and 3 passing touchdowns, including a fourth down touchdown pass to rookie Sammie Stroughter to take the lead, 31-28 late in the game. Freeman became the youngest quarterback in Bucs history to start and win his first game.

No because Denver wouldn't of won the close games to NE or Dallas having to compensate for two more TO's. Same goes for week one against Cinncy.

those games would not have been that close--we averaged 23 game with JayC, a WR corp with less depth and lesser RB's--I'd venture to say with Jay--we'd be closer to 25 game...........not 18.8 and TWENTY SECOND IN THE ENTIRE NFL. And we are 18th in 3rd down coversion rates--beneath--the DETROIT LIONS AND ROOKIE QB MATT STAFFORD.Last year we were THIRD in the entire NFL in conversions

Denver averaged 19 ppg after game 3 last year once teams had enough game film to game plan them. Cutler's INT's would of added enough points to the other side to lose.
