And other stuff...

http://www.denverpost.com/premium/broncos/ci_13654011

Q: Can you describe your emotions about playing against the Denver Broncos, the team that selected you in the third round of the 2005 draft?

A: "I'll be excited to see my friends. I still stay in contact with (cornerback) Champ (Bailey) a lot and (linebacker) D.J. Williams. I'm loving seeing how well they're doing. So I'll be happy to see them and congratulate those guys. But I played against them last year (as a member of the Atlanta Falcons). I'm not married to the Broncos. I don't have any strong emotions about seeing the Broncos as much as just seeing my guys."

Q: Will you have any conversations with your former teammates in the days leading up to Sunday?

A: "I talk to Champ at least every couple of weeks, to see how he's doing. So I don't imagine it being any different. Nothing special. It's not like I'm playing against the guy, so I won't be talking (expletive) to him or anything."

Q: Who would be your dream date and where would you take her?

A: "I would take Rihanna on a date to Megan Fox's house."

That is a very good answer. He is an alright player but I don't miss him very much. He would still be 3rd or 4th corner on this team.

I couldn't stand Foxworth his final few years here. He let his gums just flop all over the place. He embraced this "nfl is my job" too much and almost bordered on insubordinate with some of his comments.

What i see with Foxworth is a guy who doesn't love the game, just loves the money and fame which comes with it. Most reports say the guy has been a huge bust for the Ravens secondary as he's been getting torched.

Foxworth isn't getting much love in Baltimore. He's basically who he was here.

Foxworth is a smart player, and I think a valuable reserve, with ability to play CB or S in a pinch.

He's business savvy, and I think he played the best he could. He's athletically very gifted, but for whatever reasons his instincts seemed lacking. I really liked him and was pissed that we basically traded him away for nothing. He played pretty well for ATL down the stretch last year, notching a few interceptions in the last weeks if I recall correctly.

My only problem was that he couldn't really back-up his belief that he was good enough to start. I wish he could have gone out and proven it, but it looks like he's a nickel CB at best.

I hit on that in another thread. They just don't matchup well with our WR. Throw in we have a pretty good TE in Scheff to keep linebackers and safety's occupied and the CB's could have a long day vs Denver.

Foxworth just don't big enough to handle Marshall by himself, so that means at least 1 safety will shade that side of field. But then Marshall runs all those 5 yrd routes which means the linebackers will probably also have to help out foxy some.

It could really open things up for someone like Gaffney or Stokley to make some plays over the middle.

Well he's starting now.

His biggest problem is he is a soft player. He would rather bat a ball away then stick him shoulder into them.

He doesn't turn his hips well which means he has to play off WR or get burnt deep. Problem is he is a so so tackler coming up from play off WR. The double whammy of suck if you ask me.

I never liked him, which is why while he was in Denver I called him Foxworthless.

ATL didn't keep him for a reason. We let him go for a reason. Ravens were desperate for CB help with McCalister growing old and out of favor with the team. They took a chance on Foxy and have a pass defense ranked near the bottom to show for it.

He makes a horrid nickel back because those 3rd wr are always really quick and he can't change direction fast enough with his slow as hip turn. Foxworths hips are like trying to make a U-turn in Spiders big rig, in an alley.

It's not that Foxworth isn't fast, he is, it's just that his speed doesn't seem to translate into playing the corner. He just doesn't seem good at turning his hips and accelerating. he's fine in a straight line but he's not good out of his backpeddle.

Playing corner is almost more about anticipation, route reading, having a fluid backpeddle, and flipping your hips quickly to run a different direction.

One guy mentioned safety, but hes just too small and un physical for that role, IMO.

Why they gave him almost 17 million guaranteed is a mystery.

Fabian Washington another super fast corner who just isn't very good actually having to cover anyone. Been like that since he was a Raider.

I don't know if we win this road game. It will be tough. But I would be surprised if Broncos WR don't rack up 20 balls between them for 200 yrds or so.

Start Orton in Fantasy this week...........

I'm thinking about it. My qbs going into season were Mcnabb and Trent Edwards. Mcnabb got injured and Edwards was fine for 2 games, then tanked for 2 games, then mcnabb has come back and done decent.

Orton just sat out there on waiver wire so I dropped Edwards 2 weeks ago and added Orton.

Do I bench Mcnabb vs Giants to start Orton over Ravens? I mean its like putting money where my mouth is after saying the matchups IMO point to Broncos throwing the ball well. Dude doesn't turn it over much either.

Usually I try not to sit my starting fantasy guys looking for the better matchup. I just start the talent and make sure I get all there big games. Then with my bye weeks, injuries, players just flat not performing I look for my tricks.

Benching Mcnabb when he consistently gets some points goes against my theory. I don't know though I might do it.

I doubt they man up on Broncos. What do you think?

IMO looking at the matchups the smart thing to do is play a zone with a safety in the middle, and the other moving around to help out on Marshall.

Ravens IMO will hope to stop the run with only 7 players in the box to start the game. Then if they do they will try and bring blitzes with zone defense in behind it.

What do you think? I haven't really watched them play so I don't for sure what they have been doing.

start mcnabb.

If the ravens do not blitz the shyt out of Orton, he will roast the cbs like peanuts. Orton sucks with pressure in his face, and is not very mobile.

After a whole by week you would think the ravens would dial up the pressure. I still fully expect Klye to blow up their secondary for 250+ and several tds. But i think mcnabb might be the safer play.

Dont forget westbrook might be out for that game- which means more passing.

Kyle and Mcnabb should have similiar numbers if you ask me. GOOD NUMBERS!

I hope Brandon uses Foxworth up like he did Cromartie last year. That would be awesome.

F D. Foxworth. He was overrated here because of his draft status. Outside of his rookie season, he wasn't very good. No other way to say it vs. that right there.

If that. JMFW is playing some excellent football for us right now at nickleback and is the type of tough player with good tackling skills that we need in the secondary if we're going to keep blitzing aggressively up front. Alfonso had looked pretty good too though I think JMFW has outplayed him. As a 1st round pick(essentially) he was a lock to make the team.

Foxy would have a tough time even making this team IMO.

Keep in mind, Orton hasn't thrown more than 2 TD's in a game this year but if there was a game he does, this would prolly be it. I would prolly start Orton knowing that the Ravens D has given up big plays to pretty much ever team they've played so far this year!

Foxworth was the sole reason why the Broncos couldnt win the AFC Championship game. The Steelers picked on him constantly and he couldnt come anywhere close to stopping a play on his side of the field. He was the weakest link in the defense, and it was him who caused the thing to collapse.

I see it like this. Either Foxy plays off and you throw it quick, probably get a free 4-5 yrds and even a missed tackle here and there.

Or if he plays up you just run 9 routes.

Then when he starts going out of backpeddle too soon, as he does when he starts getting burnt, you start doing comebacker, buttonhooks, fake the 9 route and break it off on the sideline etc.

IMO Foxy can be beat all those ways. Nice guy, not a great football player. I'm not sure why Ravens paid him so much. Seems desperate to me.

The guy I'm going head to head against had Brady and Flacco. Brady on a bye so I only need to outplay Flacco.

The question is Mcnabb might be the safer pick because he always throws so much. He could have a bad night and still get 225 and 2 tds.

I will probably stick with Mcnabb.
