The Chiefs are getting worse every day if that's even possible. They have a serious lack of talent to say the least and it's going to take many years just to be competitive.

The majority of the good games LJ has had in the last three years has been against you guys.

I will make any type of bet the offense plays much much better without him.

He has the lowest per carry average of any NFL back with 100 carries and the lowest per carry average on the team, couple that with the fact he cant block and boom you have addition by subtraction.

LJ is far from the best player on the Chiefs.

Well, you've got to hand it to the Chiefs. They can't hope to reach the level of the Raiders, but at least they keep trying.

Good riddance. I always knew he hated Priest and that he could never hold Holmes' jock.

LJ staying on this team while getting money was the epitome of Carl's ineptitude. Carl trading Allen because he was a so called "higher risk" than LJ was stupid. Allen deserved the money, not LJ.

Pioli and Haley have a tough job ahead. It's gonna be hard to clean up Carl's crap over the last few years. Years of terrible FA signings, letting stars go and below average drafts have put the Chiefs in a big hole.

Way to go out on limb there, not like it could get worse.

Had to be done. The only hope for Pioli and co. in my opinion is to dump the platoon of worthless overpaid talent on the team next year to spread the cap hit out between 2011 and the uncapped season and start getting some real football players in there.

So wich team is a bigger mess... Cheifs or Raiders?

Right now I would have to say the chefs. I think all the Faiders have to do is bench/cut Jabba and they are about a .500 team.

But they won't, will they?

So, actually, the Chief fans are probably better off. They don't have to wait for you-know-who to be carted away to an assisted living center and have his phone privileges suspended.

I don't know... He is easily one of the worst QB's I've ever seen. Even Crypt keeper Al has to see that. We will see.

In any event, both teams are a train wreck.

Correction, he hasn't done anything since 2006 when he got paid a million dollar contract with almost 13 million guaranteed.

Chiefs To Release Larry Johnson
27th October, 2009 - 7:29 pm

Jeff Risdon/RealGM - The Kansas City Chiefs will sever ties with problematic running back Larry Johnson, according to a team source that spoke to RealGM's Jeff Risdon on Tuesday afternoon.

The league and the team are investigating a pair of recent incidents, including one where Johnson used a gay slur. This is not the first time Johnson has gotten himself in trouble by using a gay slur, having had to apologize for the same offense last season. He was forced to apologize for this, as well as for negative comments directed at head coach Todd Haley. Haley has thus far refused comment.

The team has barred Johnson from any contact with the team.

This is a precursory move before the team formally releases Johnson before the end of the week, according to the source.

Part of the delay in releasing him involves going through the NFLís disciplinary investigation, but the source was adamant that Larry Johnson has played his last game in Kansas City.

His apology..

"First of all, I want to apologize to the fans of the Kansas City Chiefs and the rest of the NFL, Commissioner Goodell, the Chiefs organization, Coach Todd Haley, his staff, and my teammates for the words I used yesterday. I regret my actions. The words were used by me in frustration, and they were not appropriate. I did not intend to offend anyone, but that is no excuse for what I said.

"I also want to apologize to all the kids who view athletes as role models. I was not a good role model yesterday and hopefully I can become a better role model. We all make mistakes, and the challenge is to learn from them. I will do my best to learn from this one as I move toward becoming a better person, teammate, and member of the Kansas City Chiefs team and community."

I'm not normally one either, but it is, "not usually a grammar police"

Also, you need a comma after sense. Not a period.

But hey, I only made a C in English, so what do I know.ROFL!

I know I make my fair amount of punctuation mistakes, but I cannot stomach the thought of america's youth walking around thinking that the word "since" is the correct way to end that thought.

It bothers me even more to know that when they are actually saying that phrase out loud, that they are saying "since".

This is the 3rd time I have fought the good fight on a football message board.

The Chiefs have imposed a two-week suspension on running back Larry Johnson.

And Johnson will be challenging the suspension immediately.

"We will be filing an appeal tomorrow," agent Peter Schaffer told us by phone tonight. "It is our belief that the action did not warrant the discipline unilaterally imposed by the Chiefs. We'll be asking for an expeditied hearing, and hopefully we can work out a positive, mutual resolution with the Chiefs. If not, we'll defer to the arbitrator's decision. Larry's desire is to get back to his teammates as soon as he can."

Unlike league-imposed suspensions, which ultimately are appealed to the Commissioner, suspensions imposed by the team are reviewed by an independent arbitrator.

Johnson is banished from the team until November 9. If the suspension is upheld, he'll miss only one game -- November 8 at Jacksonville.
