Photoshop is pretty expensive, if you buy a non-pirated version of it. And that said, it used to be lots easy to use a pirated version.

I just went ahead and bought the whole Adobe suite. But I'm really good at Photoshop stuff. You kids out there - I wouldn't try any of this stuff at home.

its not that difficult, i taught myself in a matter of a week or two just because i needed to do a project and couldnt afford to pay someone to do it. It does help that i already had the software on my computer when i bought it so i didnt pay for something i wasnt sure i would be able to use...there are also a bunch of great how to videos on youtube to help a beginner out in whatever software they choose to do

I was being sarcastic, as it pertains to being good at it (although I am okay, if I spend enough time).

But I do love how there are SO many tutorials online. There are thousands upon thousands of them. And Photoshop is an AWESOME program! Despite not using it as much as I would like, I was still willing to pony up for the cost of it (and all the other Adobe programs that came in the CS4 suite I bought).

I ended up using it for the same reason as you. About ten years ago, I needed a logo for a business I started. I downloaded a pirated copy, and just started using it. Once a person understands the basic concept, the world opens up.
