That can only be described as a revolution. Raise your hand if you think that would have ever happened under Shanahan.

Other stats of note:

Turnover margin: +7 (T 5th) ..... Last year: -17 (T 31st)

QB rating: 100.1 (7th) .............. Last year: 85.9 (11th)

Scoring: 22.2 (T 18th) ..............Last year: 23.1 (16th).

Bottom line: The team is scoring 1 point less per game, but allowing 17 points less per game. Net difference of +16 points per game.

If Shanahan had taken defense and special teams more seriously, he'd still be the coach.

And have a few more rings.

Reality is that Shanny got too tied into the business of the NFL, instead of being the head coach of the Denver Broncos.

Pretty impressive numbers with the takeaways and sacks.

Obviously the defense is much improved and is a HUGE surprise to everyone.

Hopefully they can keep up this pace for an entire season. We'll see.

Scoring: 22.2 (T 18th) ..............Last year: 23.1 (16th).

Found this interesting, how the hell we do that without our franchise QB???

To quote Colin Cowherd... "smoke and mirrors".

We gotta keep it up for the whole season. Back in 2006 we had an amazing start to the year on defense, then they fizzled out faster than you could say Jake Plummer.

With that said, I would NEVER have expected this big of a turnaround in one offseason. Maybe move up to around ~15th or so, but top 5? No way.

Great starts with late season collapses was Shanahan's trademark. I agree that we've only played 6 games, but that soft Shanahan team is gone. There is nothing simular in the 2006 Broncos and the 2009 Broncos defense.
