this play was awesome, gay didnt stand a chance. chester taylor ruined that game for the vikes, if nothing else he shoulda hit it away, not let it go off his stumps into the air.

Yeah, but did anyone see him get destroyed by the Steelers D-lineman on the play that PIT returned for a touchdown?

I watched it live and was absolutely floored, not as much as Gay though...

The Vikings got robbed today. The first INT run back for a TD for the Steelers shouldn't have even happened. The refs called tripping the play before on the Vikings TD, which was total BS. Even the guys calling the game where like WTF watching back the slow motion replay. They score that TD and the complex of the game changes, now they are ahead by 4 with under 6 minutes to go. F'n refs blow man.

Yea it was a good play but lets remember first of all that he ran over a CORNERBACK who weighs all of 175 pounds and has no clue how to tackle. im not to discredit him but i dont think its even one of his better plays he has done more impressive things to linebackers.

I remember watching that play and thinking, Peterson must have mistaken Gay for a Pedestrian because he Just Donte Stallworthed his @$$.

I think that was borderline spearing/leading with the helmet. AP is still a mananimal though.

I wonder why they only fine defenders for helmet on helmet stuff?

Not only is he a beast but he's an incredible person as well. The dude has it all, a complete package and it is easy to root for him. Knowshon will never have that physical talent (speed anyhow) but he has the attitude and he'll be able to run people over as his strength (which is already good) improves.

AD ain't no joke.

I don't know why Gay came up high, then at the point of contact pretty much stopped, went back on his heels, and pretty much let AD run over him. That was piss poor tackling. If he hits AD low then he's not on a poster for the rest of his life.

That was an amazing play, very Earl Campbellesque.

I got ridiculed here a few years ago for saying that AD did have and would have in the NFL some of the same rough-and-tumble power traits of Earl Campbell...while having an absurd amount of speed to go along with it. It just goes to show you that the masses can and will miss the obvious.

AD is the most physical back the NFL has seen in a long time, and it was easy to see it coming when he was in college as well. I have seen AD absolutely destroy linebackers and even defensive linemen. He hits like a linebacker when he lines you up and gets his center of gravity low.

Just amazing that when he was drafted he went 6th. Yep, that injury he got at oklahoma hurt him bad. lol, I so wish shanny would have traded up for him. Oh well, Peterson is one guy I would pay to go watch. Just an incredible player.

It wasnt "an" injury, it was that he had relatively chronic problems with his ankles. He strides long and carries his frame high when he hits full gear, and he hits full gear really quickly. He can get up to speed very fast and when he comes through the line, players try to trip him up by his legs, and he could hurt his ankles...this was a problem for him at Oklahoma.

He was actually drafted 7th, I believe.

"...might be the best back I've ever seen coming out of college."
"Every time he carries the ball, he tries to hurt you. He's bad. And he's fast. He's mean. He's tough. This guy is something else. He sure gets your attention."
-- Tampa Bay coach Jon Gruden on RB Adrian Peterson

Yes, but he better make his money fast, because his shelf-life may be shorter than LT's.
