yea i think that was a marriage that just wasnt destined to work. he wants revenge on them too, said the bears tried to blackball him etc.

go bengals...if nothing else, a bears loss will make it hard for them to come back and get in teh playoffs, thus killing our draft pick.

Would they really let Shanahan and Slowik near that defense? I mean, their D has had a couple down years now, but that's their identity: the black and blue bears and all that. Just seems like an odd match, but given the Cutler connection it's a possibility.

their o-line is horrible

I've said it a lot lately: the biggest winner of the trade was Orton. This was also why I thought Cutler was an idiot for forcing his way out. There are few teams in the NFL with the young talent at WR and o-line that Denver has. That, more than having a coach who coddles you, will lead to a long, successful, money making career. Chicago will certainly try to build a better line around him, but it ain't easy and certainly isn't guaranteed.

i don't know why shanahan wants to stay married to slowik - shanahan seems to fall on his sword to the point of absurdity. there will be a lot of better qualified DC candidates than slowik out there at seasons end.

Shanny and Slowik have reportedly been studying defenses together...it looks like the writing is on the wall.

I'm not going to read much into the fact that they both went to some training camps to study the 3-4. There's plenty of 3-4 coaches that are available to run that type of defense.

Looks like Chicago needs to get a run game going, Shanahan probably snags Turner away from us. I'm for whatever keeps Shanahan away from San Diego.

Slowick doesn't get access to things like Steelers camp without Shanahan dragging him along. Its pretty damn sad but Shanahan seems to want the guy around wherever he goes.

As for Turner, he's even said he only takes OC interviews to go through the motions and keep minority candidates in consideration. He's never had serious interest in them. Sounds like a guy who wants to finish his career in Denver.

I wonder how much a factor Slowick would be in Shanahan going to Chicago. The fan base and current ownership group where quite happy to see Slowick canned before, I can't imagine they would welcome him back with open arms. Might be one of those sticking points that makes Shanahan lean towards Washington or Dallas.

Shanahan basically demoted Jim Bates, a known quality DC, half a season into his shot here and turned the show over to Sowik. When the guy put up nothing but **** for a season and a half Shanahan still said he wanted to bring him back. You really think he's still dragging him around to have him as a DBs coach?

I don't think Turner would be calling plays, pretty much he would be doing the same stuff he is doing with Denver. Just under a different title. Shanahan has always ran the offense side of things.
Yes. Turner will uproot his family and move from Denver for basically the exact same job he has now, even though he's refused to do so when offered significantly more money to be an OC.

I'm sure you love Shanahan and think he's going to make all the right moves and that anyone would want to work for him, but the reality of the situation is likely quite different.
