An airline over in England called Ryan Air is thinking about using these for smokers on flights. May not be these exactly but ones that are electronic and deliver nicotine.

since they are non-toxic and aren't flammable the airline thinks its smoking customers and those they want to grab will fly them more if they have this option. Ryan air is the same airline that made news when it considered charging for use of the bathroom.

But I think its a great idea for long haul flights like those across the country or oversees. It takes the ease off of smokers and keeps the others passengers safe.

The airlines are being very creative these days finding ways to take money out of their customers pockets.

Oh yes they are. Sure they need it but what I find troubling is those fees on bags and what not are never going away. Even though jet fuel has long stabalized and fallen back to levels at pre-baggage fee times they are still there.

Reason is as gas goes down profits increase because these fees are in place. So why drop them when its helping your bottom line and helping offset the other losses.

My old pal use to send me pics of cancerous lungs like this when I was a smoker. It was the catalyst that got me to quit.

I can't imagine vapor generated by a lithium ion battery could be good for your lungs, but whatever.

For all the damage they've done to my luggage (broken wheel and support, missing zipper pulls, etc) they should treat the bags a bit better if they're going to continue to charge $15 - $20 to check one freakin' bag. I swear I despise them almost as much as the TSA.

Will there be a "I'm not really smoking" section?

I actually know someone who uses one of these things and swears it works pretty well. He's gotten away using in bars which is kind of surprising since they're really strict about where you can smoke around here nowadays.

I didnít engineer the device, but my guess is the contents of the battery donít touch the material you inhale. Just a guess though.
