Is the GOP breaking in half between the traditional Republicans and the teabaggers?

Former Alaska GOP Gov. Sarah Palin on Thursday endorsed Conservative Party nominee Doug Hoffman over Dede Scozzafava, the Republican Party's choice, in the special election for New York’s 23rd congressional district.

"The people of the 23rd Congressional District of New York are ready to shake things up, and Doug Hoffman is coming on strong as Election Day approaches! He needs our help now," Palin wrote in a statement that will be posted on her Facebook page late Thursday.

EDIT: Michele Bachmann also is endorsing the Conservative Party nominee.

Also, a Democrat hasn't held this seat since before the Civil War and has a very solid shot at winning it because of this.

You say say this as if Sarah Palin was capable of independent thought, Republicans have seen the writing on the wall & know a sarah palin endorsement isn't a good thing to have.

look at it this way,Palin announced awhile ago that she would like to go on the campaign trail for canidates in upcomming elections. Last I checked there weren't many takers.

Palin and Bachmann? Mr. Hoffman's chances of winning are now effectively 0.
