Well, it's a bye week for both teams, so visiting the Ravens board is one diversion.

A lot of good posts...a lot of respect and some understandable nervousness.

pretty good take here.
This game is scary for a lot of reason. If we thought out pass rush was bad before its going to be virtually non existant without 6 man blitzes in this game, Denver has arguably a top Oline unit in the entire league. They run a vast variety of formations on offense, and execute them all well. Orton manages that offense and puts up yards prob better than anyone Ive seen in a game manager role. Moreno is a capable back that can run inside and outside as well as catch the ball almost as well as Rice does. Their WR are going to have a field day on our corners, just imagine how many tackles Marshall is going to break on our soft corners especially considering the kind of cushion theyll give him. They should be fine with Royal because hes finally a WR thats a comparable player to our corners. Gaffney knows their offense inside and out, and should appear over the middle frequently. Their defense will shutdown our outside recievers for the most part, Mason is going to have a tough day with Champ, Clayton is going to need to do something consistently for a change. DJ Williams is as athletic a LB as there is in the entire league he does it all and he does it all well, nothing exceptional but hes a well rounded LB that can do everything. Add Dawkins sniffing around the box, and Dumerville on the edge against Oher and this could be a long day. I really am not looking forward to this game, to say this matchup worries me is an understatement.

Bye week blues:

"The Broncos will be playing well-rested and geared-up teams. When the Broncos play the Chargers, San Diego will be coming off its bye week. In Week 8, when Denver plays at Baltimore, both teams will be coming off their bye week. And the following week, when Denver plays host to Pittsburgh, the Steelers will be coming off their bye week."

The Ravens didn't lose big, they lost because they missed a field goal.

Anyway, it's easy to say that Ravens fans are smart and level headed because they are saying good things about the Broncos, but they honestly seem to know a lot about the game and when they say something in regard to beating us they usually have a reason to back it up. I NEVER would have thought Ravens fans would be like that. I guess I just lumped them in with Eagles and Falcons fans, but these guys are (oh god I'm actually going to say this...) birds of a different feather.

Considering the way Matt Light dominated him, and the fact that Micheal Oher is a pretty solid tackle, it could be true.

I noticed that in 2000 when Denver went to Baltimore and got stuffed by their D.

Most of the chat prior to the game was from knowledgeable fans and virtually smack free.

Yeah unlike the Chargers game, I like our receivers against their corners. You have ED REEEEEDDDD (did you know the Broncos could have drafted him but took Ashley Lelie instead?) who freelances and can be looked off. Palmer is the king of moving Reed around. I like Eddie on Washington. We seem to abuse him, and Marshall against Foxworth is just hilarious to me. Should have a lot of opportunities down field.

Their offensive line will be much better than San Diego's, though. And Rice is like a bigger version of Sproles. He'll be hard to contain. In many ways this is a flip-flop of the Boltz game where the Chargers matched up well at the skill positions but not on the line. The Ravens much up with us well on the inside, but not at the skill positions.

I'd like to see us run the ball out of three wide sets with Marshall, Scheffler and Royal in the slot. I'm also curious how their line will respond now that they will be a bit healthier.

It will be a good matchup. It was one I figured we'd lose at the beginning of the season, but I think we have a decent chance. If we can get starting faster and the special teams play continues to improve, we can win this game.

You might have cause for concern if this was Shanahan's defense. But it's not.

The teams seem to match up well. The only positions we have an edge are WR and CB.

This might be the game where Orton has to do more than just manage the offense.

I'd say these last two weeks Orton has done more than just manage the game. He's capable and he's showed that a hostile crowd (Oak, SD) does not bother him. I think Orton will continue to do what he's been doing, but I could see a few more shots down field in this game.

I disagree.

I said last year sproles was the most overrated player i have seen in years. He is not a good RB at all. He (sproles) reminds me of quentin griffen. Small fast and hopes around lightning quick. But cant break a tackle for life.

Rice is short, but he is fast, really really strong and has very good balance. Plus he can catch. He is like MJD in a lot of ways if you ask me. He is by far and away their most dangerous weapon they posess, besides Joe that is.

agreed...his balance is outstanding, and he'll go to three points to keep his balance once tackler's bounce off...you have to wrap him up for sure...

The offensive line just needs to give Orton enough time to wear out the Ravens' garbage corners.
