There's a reason why Allen's record is under 50... wtf Titans over Pats? What gives anyone any confidence that this will happen?

Expert my ass.

I've seen several "experts" taking the Titans. I hope it happens. The confidence? Some still believe if the Broncos can beat them anyone can. I love people still not believing in us.

Not really.

Football Outsiders has them as teh #1 offense and #2 defense in the league. Right now, the Saints look like the most complete team in football and they are playing at home against a Giants team that has given up a crapload of points to lesser talent.

Half of those guys are not picking the Chargers because they think they are the better team. The figure the must want it more then us and really, how many in a row can we win, we must lose at some point. So they figure now is a good time to pick a loss.

They will learn, maybe.

Allen always picks against Denver....ALWAYS. I was watching Monday Morning QB this week and he was actually talking the Broncos up. I knew he'd pick against the Broncos next chance he got, though.

Ha Ha. Only the Denver guys, Shefter & Stink, had us winning.

When you really look at it, the only real argument to take SD is that they are at home and thier backs are against the wall.

But on a pure matchup analysis, I think you have to take Denver. But that's just me.

He's hated the Broncos ever since Dennis Smith knocked him the **** out causing him to fumble in a playoff game vs Pittsburgh.

Smith hit him so hard he was never the same. That was the hit thast scrambled what brains he had left. I think he played a couple more yrs after that but then someone else dinged him in the head. Kenny Easly maybe?

Man Kenny Easley was a good player, a lot of people over look him and Dennis Smith. But they are 2 of the best safety's I ever saw.

I think we with the matchup our oline vs there dline. And we win the matchup our front 7 vs there oline.

At WR Jackson and Marshall a wash
At RB Moreno/Buck LT/Sproles probably a wash
At TE they have us
In the secondary I feel we are better.

That leaves QB where they are more talented then we are.

IMO the only way Chargers win this game is for Rivers to will them to it. He is very capable of doing that. No one player can lift a team like a QB can, its the nature of the position.

IMO Rivers will have to throw it to covered WR and try and thread the needled. We will have some chances for picks.

Maybe it's just me but I don't usually pick a team that ranks last in rushing and near last in stopping the run to win. The Raiders had a TD taken away (Bogus call if you ask me) and they should have beat the Chargers. They haven't really showed anybody anything yet. I don't know why they are a good pick here.

Football outsiders had us dead last to start the season.

They like any power ranking just use different set of formulas to decide who they like. I do like the outsiders, find there way of looking at stats interesting, but they are just stat analyzer, not predictors of wins and losses.

You can't measure heart and chemistry. You can't measure teammates coming together. That's why anything can happen in the NFL.

Don't count out Chargers just because some DVOA has there run game stinking and our run defense smoking. Sproles and LT are capable of big games still.

Agree. NYG are one of the best road teams in recent history. Coughlin's record is insane when he is a dog on the road. I like the G-men this week.

Almost everyone has us losing this week because the Chargers are supposedly desperate. Living in SoCal I really hate the Chargers, but this week I hope we kill them.

The only way we lose to the Bolts is if we turn the ball over and play poorly in the red-zone.

Having said that...this really is the Bolts season right here. They absolutely have to win and talent wise...they're very capable of beating us.

We've greatly exceeded our own expectations for our Broncos...but many of us are getting carried away with our 5-0 record. Let's not forget that we receieved a miracle against Cincinnatti, were very fortunate against the Cowboys and won in Overtime against the Pats at home.

Starting out 5-0 is great....but I'd rather win the last 5 games of the season to close out strong. We have one hell of a schedule coming up and we're going to have to continue playing smart football to win close ballgames.

So many people picked the Bolts, because they have a really good chance at beating us if they play to their potential.

Actually I took them to task on that.

They put us dead last because historically speaking, teams that undergo as much change as Denver did in the offseason regress considerably and considering that we were pretty low on their rankings last year their pre-season projections had us at last.

Their "DAVE" is a combination of stats and subjective projections. Right now DAVE only makes up 27% (40% for those teams that have had a bye) of the makeup and DVOA is now making up most of the stats.

FO really isnt all that useful until week 6 IMO, but at that point it starts to get really accurate.

The spread, and the Broncos underdog status, is understandable. The Chargers are desperate, talented, at home, and rested. Let's hope the Broncos prove everybody wrong yet again!

fair assessment when not looking through the orange-tinted goggles that others around here can't take off.

I hope that we win but I expect teh Chargers to be playing for their season.
