In fact, these positions existed before her husband was elected...

Here's the point you all are missing:

There has NEVER been anyone in the White House at any time who has created such an army of staffers whose sole duties are the facilitation of the First Lady's social life. One wonders why she needs so much help, at taxpayer expense, when even Hillary, only had three; Jackie Kennedy one; Laura Bush one; and prior to Mamie Eisenhower social help came from the President's own pocket.

Note: This does not include makeup artist Ingrid Grimes-Miles, 49, and "First Hairstylist" Johnny Wright, 31, both of whom traveled aboard Air Force One to Europe .

It just goes to show how out of touch the Obamas are with the real world, especially the wife. She's had a cushy, high-paying job doing nothing at a hospital, yet feels put upon all the time. She and her hubby have had it pretty good in this country compared to most, but one wouldn't thnik so with the way they act.

I wonder how Obama's staff compares numbers wise. It certainly appears that Michelle Obama's personal staff is way over inflated and it would not suprise me if the president's staff is the same way.

I think this is a better question.

I liken it to the 15 VP's and their personal assist. that seem to exists at every large company. i think after a while, when you don't have a balance sheet to worry about daily, people tend to overspend. I mean, look in your cabinets, how many food products, spices, or weird crap you have in your cupboard that you don't use.

Let's assume everyone at the party is driving a Mercedes. You are the leader of the party and supposedly a man of great standing there. What should you drive? Should you impress them by coming in a mid sized Chevy Malibu? What about a Ford? Maybe you should show how green you are and have everyone ride bicycles?

In business if I want to show someone I am serious I come with my ducks in a row and I come prepared to change directions in a moments notice. I bring who I need with me because the objective is to close the deal not negotiate. If I am the leader of the free world and I want my wife and children to be with me because of whatever I don't think I should have to apologize to any of you if I am meeting my FAMILY'S needs.

Nobody seems to catch that this is attack against his family?

The problem with you all is instead of demanding "Change we can believe in", we accept the same old bull****. It's OK for my guy to abuse the system because your guy did it first. This goes both ways. Both sides are just as guilty. Can't we all agree that Nancy, Barbara, Hillary, Laura and Michelle could have survived with a few less $100K per year earning helpers?

Attack is a little brisk. It's Washington. An attack isn't a subtle thing.

I think it's amazing how mis-informed we have become as people. Our leaders are so far removed from us that whenever we see them in their real setting we get a sense of how far away from us they are. It's been that way for years and yet now suddenly we upset by it? Wow.

I guess Bernie Madoff misses his entourage. Did you see the Entourage that was with Michael Jackson? Do you know how many people he had to get rid of just to get into the court room?

You missed the point in my previous post. Someday we need to realize that the status quo is ****ed up. Why not now with the candadate of change? Does the first lady really need all these assistants? I'll tell you what, let's just wait until a republican president is in office. Will you agree with me then? And the taxpayers don't pay for Michael Jackson's entourage.

I agree with your assessment that it isn't about Michelle, as much as it's been a waste for a long time, and maybe the Obama's should make a change in the policy. The same way I see the bailouts. I thought Bush was wrong, and I think Obama was wrong to do it too. He wanted to change things, and in my eyes, as a voter for the change platform, I'd like to see some. He's not making any big mistakes, but he isn't making any plays either...kinda like Marty Ball at this point. Ant is right, he needs to make a stand and maybe make some people angry.

I did not miss your point.

Politics is about the ugliest of things. It is about power. When my President steps in front of other world leaders I don't want them feeling sorry for him. I want his family protected, his love ones nearby, and the other leaders to feel a little envious that our guy really has it like that.

I admired George Bush when he was President for taking some of the hits he did for things he was blamed for which had nothing to do with him. He did this for the good of our country. I was bitterly disappointed in what politics he allowed to take root through Cheney, Rumsfield and Wolfiwitz. There were some serious criminals in his administration that will never see jail. I hope to read his memoirs and see what choices he thought that he had. He was a good man in Texas but a failure in D.C.

The taxpayer's paid for the Michael Jackson's trial just like they paid for many of the show stopper trials. The reason they reduced his entourage size is the city and county could not afford to rent a larger place. Taxpayers are always paying fort things we don't think we are paying for.

I agree with you and Ant that the status quo IS ****ed up. It's ALWAYS ****ed up in politics. This is a rule.

I would rather see election reform be an issue instead of how many people Michelle has in her entourage.

Why aren't we creating a nationalized job center. If we are going to nationalize things why not start there? When do we talk about the reports coming from the czars and some of the public information about transportation issues? Why are there no threads on Iran? Why aren't we talking about Osama bin Laden or the real changes in Pakistan?

We don't talk about issues. We whine and complain. Anything that woudl involve US doing something never gets posted. We post insults to each other and see who can show his balls and then call THEM the fag.

Shake things up? How is he going to do anything when we ourselves seem unable to do anything different?

It's all good. I want to create an Orangemane entourage of about 50 blue suited orange afroed pimps walking into the stadium one day with blue mirrored glasses and then have the Original pimp in orange leading the way. It's a football forum. It's what we do.
