Ranked #32 in rushing earning 2.7 per carry and a total of 215 rushing yards in 4 games (53.8 yds per game).

Is this offense one dimensional?

I know it's a divisional game and you never underestimate a team but I think the Broncos defense is going to be blitzing a ton this game. The key will be to hit Rivers often and force him into turnovers if we can. Gates and Jackson have had great games so it figures the best way to keep those guys in check is to get the guy who throws them the ball.

They also rank 27th in stopping the run. So they are last in rushing and close to last in stopping the run. Kinda seems like the Colts of old. You don't want Rivers getting hot. He's their best player (sorry LT) so the game plan has got to be "GET TO RIVERS" and get to him often. He's a gamer and will keep attacking you for 60 minutes, even when he's down by several TD's. Our offense really needs to give a great rushing clock chewing effort next Monday night to keep his number of opportunities down to 4 per half.

McD has shown he knows how to prepare.

I like how, so far, they've been able to make second half adjustments.

I don't see the momenum stopping against SD.

Did Mock ever show up for his crow; or did he just sneak back in.

Guess I should start Phillip Rivers this weekend after all. Dude's gonna be throwing all day - not to VJax of course

It would be nice to see a little payback for that last game.

SD's rushing attack won't be getting any better after 10/19. Denver stops the rush pretty damn good.

If I was looking at this last year, and the few years before that, I would be thinking that they would hang some huge rushing number on us. Those D's of old used to turn someone into a pro bowler for the other teams offense every week. Remeber Sammy Morris, and that receiver for Miami... Camarillo or something? It's nice to have some confidence in the defense.

If I'm Norv, I get Sproles 85% of the touches. That guy is electric--a threat to score on every play. We will have to be sure tacklers or he could be off to the races. Priorities:

1. Sustain drives on offense and get points or field position at the very least.

2. No turnovers/penalties--Philip loves short fields.

3. Close down the run game right away--don't even give 'em a sliver of hope to run the ball.

4. Salt away the run game and then go get Philip.

He doesn't even remember what he said one minute ago, much less what he posted a few weeks ago.

LT should be healthy again...

You just can't underestimate this team. They are backed into a corner and are coming off of a bye week with nothing but time to prepare.

It won't be easy.

Expect at least one pass attempt by LT.......

I've now read 3 positive leaning posts by him in one day. Which I think is close to 3 more than I've ever seen from him.

The problem with blitzing the Chargers, as was the problem with New England, is they have a real good quarterback and a guy he can dump off to in Sproles (Welker for NE). Our LB's are not good enough in coverage to do too many blitzes against those kinds of teams. It's a better strategy to just give them the first couple yards in the middle of the field because then at least your LB's are still facing the middle instead of chasing any receiver that crosses through it.
