A lot of people were ragging on last years offense because of it's high ranking, but low ppg scored. I still think our offense needs to score more points. 19.8 ppg is not very good.

We definitely have left pts on the field, but today we consistently started with a very long field. I felt the offense played very good football today, it should only get better with more time. Fantastic job by Kyle

As has been said it's going to come down to how many points we leave on the field.

We can't really look at our PPG going forward. Our PPG is probably going to be heavily skewed for some time just because of the Cincy game and the slightly low scoring but relatively solid performances against the Cowboys and the Patriots.

As long as we don't leave points on the board we'll be fine. We didn't leave many today. The Pats are still solid. But still room for improvement.

Yeah, I was actually happy with our offense today. We looked a lot more consistent and Oroton is getting a lot of confidence. I wish he didn't throw that int though!

How am I bitching at all? I'm pointing out a fact. People can't express their opinions on here without offending other or hurting their feelings. I'll admit our offense is getting better, but to think we're the sixth ranked offense in the league is ridiculous.

Earlier in the year people that hated on Cutler kept bringing up the fact that our number two ranked offense was a mirage because we had tons of yards and no points. What's different with this offense? It's the same thing. The only difference is our defense is legit this year. Had we had last years D we'd be 0-5 right now no question.

Actually it has so far. We don't have a QB turning it over in the redzone. So that is a plus.

yep one of the best starts.

suprisingly not better then the 2006 broncos who gave up 37 points after 5 games and 44 points after 6 games.

hopefully unlike the 2006 team we dont collapse at the end of the season.

gotta love this

Josh, His postgame reaction said it all. After a quick wave to Belichick near midfield, McDaniels ran to the corner of the stadium near where his family sits and pumped his fist repeatedly before sharing bear hugs with his players.
"This doesn't mean a whole lot unless you can share it with somebody," McDaniels said. "Sometimes, you're allowed to have fun. That's what I was doing."

I think it will look better vs the Chargers, get tough again vs Raven and Steelers.

Some matchups just bad for us.

We have to gameplan around big huge DT.

Big time DE we can sick Graham and Clady on etc, but inside your are left with doubling, which you can only do so much.

So he can what? Line up in the wrong position and force the offense to burn a timeout? Fumble? Run up the back of his OL? Not be any more effective than any other RB in short-yardage situations?

The guy's played like **** this year and in the playing time he has had, hasn't done anything to earn more playing time.

I hate to say it but your right! It not just Hillis on the short yardage though..the O line needs to do a better job. Right now this is my biggest concert with this team! We're leaving points on the field because we can't pick up a few inches. IMO, on the 3rd and inches..why not sneak it??

You can't sneak it when your LG is getting ragdolled back into your QB with regularity.

Hamilton either needs to find a way to play with more strength or they need to start pulling him out inside the 20's. If we aren't zone blocking he isn't bringing much to the offensive unit.

And the offense will only get better. The Pass protection is really improved and with Buckhalter back next week, it'll give us an extra dimension in the running game. Orton and the WRs finally look to be settling into a rhythm together and it's coming at the right time when we head straight into the business end of the schedule.

It's no slam dunk Bucky gets back. They may let him sit until week 8. My prediction is next week Hillis gets a role in the game plan. If Hillis doesn't get some chances soon, that could mean doghouse.

But Mcdaniels seems like the kind of coach who would think man I bet they aren't expecting us to run it 50 times. That Charger front 7 not what it used to be.

Lost in all of this is you have a team with a roster turnover, new coaches and terminology on both sides of the ball, and for them to be playing like this is almost unheard of. Usually you hear of teams with so much upheaval needing alot of time to get on the same page, but these guys are playing like they've been together for years. There's no doubt we have lots of room to improve, but to be 5-0 at this point, playing the type of football we are, is amazing.

A 90 yard drive for a TD and a 98 yard drive for a TD at crunch time against a good D is huge and points to how much the O is improving. The O we fielded any other week this season would not have won this game.

I'd say as a team we were hitting on 4 cylinders in game one - 5 in game two - 5.5 in game three - 6 in game four and 7 cylinders yesterday.

Usually you hear of teams with so much upheaval needing alot of time to get on the same page, but these guys are playing like they've been together for years. There's no doubt we have lots of room to improve, but to be 5-0 at this point, playing the type of football we are, is amazing.

Hell, they put together a team of solid long-time pros, a solid coaching staff, mixed in some solid rookies along with some solid 3-4-5 year vets. As long as they don't get too full of themselves too early they'll have a solid season.

His name is Hillis and we need to dust him off and take him off the shelf.

This is a head scratcher for me too especially yesterday.

You can't sneak it when your LG is getting ragdolled back into your QB with regularity.

Hamilton either needs to find a way to play with more strength or they need to start pulling him out inside the 20's. If we aren't zone blocking he isn't bringing much to the offensive unit.

And who do you play in his place?

And the offense will only get better. The Pass protection is really improved and with Buckhalter back next week, it'll give us an extra dimension in the running game. Orton and the WRs finally look to be settling into a rhythm together and it's coming at the right time when we head straight into the business end of the schedule.

Is it a given that Buck will be back next Monday?
