Had to be done:

http://www.patsfans.com/new-england-patriots/messageboard/10/280770-predict-score-contest-week-5-ne-den-page3.html

Unfortunately, I can't find too much more. Too much love for McDaniels over there.

But I gotta wonder about this analysis:

I think Cutler holding on to the ball is key. We should be bringing a lot of pressure and trying to get him to make mistakes.

http://www.patsfans.com/new-england-patriots/messageboard/10/280861-week-5-patriots-broncos.html

If the Pats can force Jay Cutler into making mistakes during his bye week, they've got an even better squad than I thought.

I was going to undercut you (respectfully of course) with this thread this week, but I found the Patriot boards not so delusional. They mostly predicted victory, but gave credit to Denver at the same time. Not only that, they seemed to respect a Denver fan thinking that the Broncos are going to win. It was all very classy and well thought out....boring.

Really good stuff on that one. We barely beat an incredibly crappy Dallas team (who hasn't been able to rush the ball against anyone), so we're obviously going to get creamed by the Pats far superior ground game.

In the threads theme....

Most are fairly reasonable...but then there are these:

"This one should be relatively easy for us, then we have even easier opponents after that. Look forward to being 6-1 "

"I haven't seen anything "great" from Orton.
This game will be decided by halftime IMO. Pats win big."

"42-17 Patriots

I have absolutely no respect for Denver and their buttersoft schedule. The 4-0 Broncos are last years 5-0 Bills. Look how that fell apart!"

" Me too. I hope they throw at that never has been Champ all day. And expose that weak safty B. Dawk. and why we are at who is Dumervil why block him. Just let him go and show how slow he is. Why even put starters on the D line I bet the ball boy could get to the QB just start back ups. You know let them get some reps in before you play a real football team. You know NE does not even have to show up this game is won. Why even try? "

I love the one guy talking up Matt Light who gave up 2 sacks to Dumervil last time they faced each other and that was his worst season. He should be able to do a fair amount of damage this time around.

"......apparently the Rocky Mountain News went under."

Yeah it was in all the papers, ya know?

Good posts over there, but the underlying message seems to be that the "pats are better, they just haven't played that way." Becasue they "beat" the Ravens' D, they believe they will cut through the Denver D. But, we shall see.......

Will Denver win? Dunno. Gotta play the game.....

Can Denver win? Damm straight......

It's like they forget the Patriots are 2 and 5 over the last decade against us. That Brady has only ever one game against us. He also turns into an interception machine against us. And we flat out own their franchise even if they win tomorrow.

I would like to see a repeat: regular season win by Broncos and a Post Season win by the Broncos. Fug the East Coast media......

Old Dude

Well, look....

1. They creamed Denver just a year ago. 41-7. Sammy Morris rushed for 138 yards on just 16 carries. All in all, they rushed for 257 yards on 38 carries. Not only that, but Cassell, despite being sacked 5 times, was still able to complete 75% of his passes. The Patriots didn't turn the ball over once. The Broncos coughed it up five times. This year, they are even stronger, with Hall of Famer Brady at the helm instead of his backup. Cutler is gone and has been replaced by Orton. So why the heck wouldn't they feel confident?

2. The whole nation has been repeatedly reminded of Denver's lucky win over Cincy and the softee schedule. The Patriots have faced four undefeated teams in a row - most recently the Ravens - who they beat - and some people were already putting the Ravens in the Super Bowl. So why shouldn't they feel confident?

3. Their coach taught our coach how to coach. nuff said.

4. Our throwback unis look 10 times more ridiculous than theirs. Does this strike fear in your heart?

http://a.espncdn.com/photo/2009/0908/pg2_e_broncos-throwback01_400.jpg

Why shouldn't they feel confident?

LOL- those guys are classic.

We wont get pressure on them?

Last year with out pathetic defense we got 6 sacks. This year--right.

They give us crap for barely beating the cowgirls. They barely barely beat the bills. If that one fool didnt fumble the kickoff they would have lost.

NEWSFLASH! the BILLS SUCK BALLS compared to the cowgirls.

This game will be much closer than they think. I wouldnt be surprised to see a pick 6 in there from us too.

They have gotten so used to winning that they forget that some teams can actually beat them, 14-2 all time in Denver, enough said.

I find it pretty comical how everyone keeps saying we beat Cinci on a miracle. They seem to forget it took Cinci 59 minutes to get on the board, but somehow we totally got outplayed that game and took a gift from God to win.

Not to mention the Patsies are a "Put your knee down in the endzone for a touchback" away from being 2-2.

Also, if the Cowboys are so terrible, how did they hang with the Giants whom many are saying are the best team in football.

I really hope we beat this bitches......

The sheer ugliness of the Broncos throwback uniforms will give us a distinct advantage!

As Brady tries to survey the field he will catch sight of the horrendous
brown and yellow unis with the vertically striped socks.

This will so upset his equilibrium that he will probably vomit profusely many times and sometimes just fall down from dizziness. Eventually this will occur to the entire patriots team.

Combined with the high altitude and the dehydration resulting from the constant vomiting, you will be lucky to get out alive.

However, I do feel that NE will get a safety, as our team , although having been practicing repeatedly in the unis , and being heavily dosed with dramamine, is not totally imune , and Orton may fall down himself one time in our end zone.

Ergo Denver 27 New England 2

Afterwards the pundits will say that Denver still hasn't beaten anyone, as they had an unfair advantage.

Does anyone remember the CU "hail mary" over Michigan? Does anyone remember the Boston College Hail Mary? How about the Falcons over the 49ers from Tolliver to Pritchard with one second remaining? How about the throw from Elway to Smith agains the Deadskins? How many "Hail Marys" have been thrown and made? And the Denver tipped ball score was a miracle? BS. It was as result from a bad defensive play that allowed Stokes to catch the tip and score. Tipped balls are caught all the time. There was one in the GB, Minnesota game last monday. Since that game against the Broncos, Cinnci has shown mettle.

I hope Denver lays big wood on them........

It's funny because I was going to make a post about that conversation. Suffice to say they're all too into the MLB playoffs to care (look at the threads on the main page) and the few that are make ridiculous claims like "we kept Brady clean against he Ravens" when they allowed three sacks and fumble for a TD. Then they say the Jets didn't do anything, with their four sacks. Then I explain we have more than both those teams combined and will playing in our house and they go on some tangent about how sacks aren't always as important as pressures (ok, so what?). It's pretty ridiculous. Especially with several saying that Denver is going to lose by double digits.

The most annoying thing is when they argue us beating bad teams means we suck. If you want to say we suck, just say it. Don't try and say beating a bad team means you're bad too. That doesn't make any sense at all.

I hope we beat the snot out of the Patriots. I predict Royal is going to break out here and our offense finally shows a taste of things to come. I look forward to this game.

Some NE fans must honestly believe the same Broncos team that lost 41-7 in NE is gonna repeat the performance in Denver. Its not going to happen. The Broncos can't help who they play, they can only go out and beat the teams on the schedule. They are doing it with defense and the running game, which is the formula for winning playoff football. Last year's defense would not have held Cinci to 7 points, or Dallas to 10. So we will see what happens on sunday, but NE is going to wake up monday fairly dissapointed.

Sorry Pats fans....we've owned your team since day one. Once in a while the fuji gets lifted (i.e. last season) in order to give you hope and then WHAM! it jumps right back on and the Broncos own you for several years to come........crushing your dreams.
