"Do not blame Caesar, blame the people of Rome who have so enthusiastically acclaimed and adored him and rejoiced in their loss of freedom and danced in his path and gave him triumphal processions. ... Blame the people who hail him when he speaks in the Forum of the 'new, wonderful good society' which shall now be Rome's, interpreted to mean 'more money, more ease, more security, more living fatly at the expense of the industrious.'" --Roman statesman Marcus Tullius Cicero (106-43 B.C.)

Cicero was part of that cabal of reactionary oligarchs who wanted to seize power for themselves. Caesar was a reaction against them. What Caesar did he was forced to do when the oligarchs basically ordered him to disarm himself, disband his legions and come before them for mercy. Like there was any chance he would ever do that. Using Cicero is an excellent reflection of our own times; A member of the oligarchy donning the clothing of a populares in order to attack the true populares who was Caesar. The greed of the oligarchs had already destroyed the Republic. Caesar was the inevitable consequence. There is absolutely no comparison to Obama. For one thing, Caesar was probably quantums smarter, and definitely ten times more decisive. The oligarchs own Obama's ass. Attacking Obama is merely doing what the oligarchs want you to do. They have given you a scapegoat to aim your passion towards, while they destroy the Republic.

Who said anything about Obama? Or is that who you thought of when you read that? hhmmm....:welcome:

I saw this on another forum, and there was a long discussion about it. Surprised, or maybe not, that there is so little talk here about it.
