While I agree non-public polls suck, some of us still have a soft spot for Shanahan. I am happy this one is private.

Knowing what we know now the conclussion is obvious, as the poll shows. I still sa it was a risky move with a greater chance of failure than success, but am incredibly happy with the way things have turned out.

it's great that this team is 4-0 and playing so well on defense and special teams. This is exactly what the franchise needed. We'll hat to wait and see if it was worth trading their best player for.

now look at that....I praised the new look broncos without taking a single swipe at Mike Shanahan.

McDaniels, Nolan, 3-4, Moreno, Dawkins, etc with Cutler would've been nice.
So why were they listening to a trade for a LIFETIME backup in Cassel?

I think this is a little unfair because there are a tangle of issues here. If pinned to do answer, I'd still say we would be a better team with Culter than without... That aside, I am happy with the rest of the transition.

I really wish people would drop the whole idea of Shanahan as GM vs. Shanahan as Coach. He was a package deal. That was the only way he wanted it and that's how his contract was written. Cleaning house, starting with Shanahan, was the only way to clean up the defensive side of the ball, and the GM area. It was OBVIOUS that Shanahan was stuck in his ways in regards to those two areas. And we are seeing the benefits of the changes already.
