This guy knows how to lead men.

I love him as much as it's possible to love a man without being gay and without knowing him personally.

That's all. :)

Andre has been playing pretty well, but the Wolverine is the best signing in a while!!! Well Spiderman if you ask Troy Aikman

I mean NFL wide. For what we paid him, we've already gotten 10x on our return. How's that Haynesworth pick up working for Washington? Just asking.

I see Dawkins play and wish he was 5 years younger. He is just outstanding.

Dawkins has been great but all the defence signings have payed off big time. I can not remember a year like this where all the signings have contributed like this. Dawkins has been the biggest as he provides such leadership. I knew he was good but did not expect someone with 14 years in the league to play so great.

Yeah I agree that maybe his production isn't as good as others (like Andra Davis), but his leadership is PRICELESS. NFL games (and seasons) are back and forth. Having a guy like him in the lineup to keep guys pulling together and working hard is unreal. Plus, he can validate McDaniels with the other players by "buying into the message", thus overcoming any concerns about age/inexperience.

I think it's a combination of Mike Nolan, Brian Dawkins, Andra Davis, and Ronnie Fields.

Oh, and moving Doom to OLB....kind of like signing a FA - even riskier actually.

Anyone else catch Aikman saying Dawkins' favorite superhero was Superman? and then he changed it to Spiderman?

Exactly. Who would have thought that Doom would not only be as good an OLB as he was a DE, but that he'd be even better? This staff has put together quite a unit.

This man is as close to General Patton as any player in the NFL.

If he ever goes in the army he will stand on top of his A1 and direct his troops from the front line.

This is soooo untrue...

The million dollar man, Albert Haynesworth is the obvious choice here. Dan Snyder is with out a doubt the best GM/Owner in the NFL, look at how good the mighty Redskins are with such quality offseason acquisitions.

I think that Mike Nolan could give him a run for the money in best offseason acquisition.

Feels like the Lynch signing. Expecting more leadership than ability, but he has come in and played really well.

Hey All!!! First post !!!!! That game was intense, this team is physical and can punch you in the mouth! Love it the media and all the negativity can shove it!

Great win!!!

I think Dawkins has more game than Lynch did at this point. Lynch was nearing the point where he was a 2 down player when he arrived here. We all know his Pro Bowls as a Bronco were at least 50% reputation.

Possibly, but I wonder how good Mike Nolan's scheme would be without a guy like Dawkins. Dawkins is teaching the other players how to prepare, how to fight, and leading them on the field.

I heard that.
Aikman must've bumped heads with Joe Buck and got another concussion.

id have to say old safeties in general were the best offseason FAs. Darren Sharper over in New Orleans is looking great as well.

By far the best signing. He has an Al Wilson like presence back there and appears to still be in great shape. I wish he was younger.

There was a play yesterday where the ball carrier was hit so hard that he fell backward. I knew immediately that was Dawkins who hit him.

How about the fact that he can give us great insight into the NFC East? By any chance, does anyone know who was covering Witten? He was held down to 30+ yrds!
I was extremely skeptical about Dawkins, but man, has he really made me eat crow and i love it!

He seems to be playing at the exact same level he was playing 5 years ago :notworthy :wiggle:

Some of Dawkins' tackles were beastly. The thing I like about him is that he's always in the right spot, and when he makes his tackles the guy never moves any further from the point of contact. He just eliminates people when he makes contact, and it's fun to watch. There are not a lot of players like that out there anymore.

That, and the rest of the defense is hitting people in the mouth. We're not seeing a lot of missed tackles or players out of position. Dawkins sets the standard, I believe. We haven't had a "standard setter" like him since Al Wilson.

I've taken a lot of crap over the years for being downright obsessive about getting a good safety and how it would improve our defense as a whole. He isn't just good, he plays with heart and you can't teach someone that. I feel so vindicated. :~ohyah!:
