Great catch and run for the winning TD.

I am impressed. He is finally doing what he should have done 12 months ago.

That said, I still say he's a high risk contract right now. Particularly since we don't have a QB that can take advantage of his skills and get him the ball. (I don't want to high-jack this thread and pick on Orton, just being honest).

Look I'm an Orton supporter for the short term cause I think McDaniel had to take control of the team and start building. Orton isn't the long term answer I think we can all agree to that but if Brandon cleans his act up and just plays hard his money will come as he might be a long term answer. Bowlen takes care of those that perform, always has, I bet Brandon gets a very nice extension soon. Good job Brandon!!!

Today's big TD is a perfect example of why he's the ideal target for Orton. He gives big play potential on short yardage passes, which will empower Orton to slice up opposing secondaries with short yardage plays while they need to keep safeties back to watch for Marshall's ability to spring a single missed tackle into a length of the field TD.

And Orton is still growing in this offense. It took Cassel until week 9 to find his stride and he spent three seasons in NE before getting a shot. Orton might just surprise you given the chance.

That TD was awesome! I was texting 2 friends that live miles away and said BM needs to have a HUGE play, told the wife and then BAM, he runs in the score!

I am going to continue to wear this same Bronco shirt on gamedays, hasn't failed me yet!

I agree with bloodsunday to a T but I hope you're right. I still think Orton will get much better.

There are plenty of players that will get better.

I'm not ready to say that Orton is not the long term answer... Not at all!

You may be right, and I hope you are. I just want to see how this thing unfolds over 16 games before I give away money to the guy.

Don't forget, be willing to play within the system, and know your role...

I don't agree with the notion that we need to start rolling dump trucks full of money to anyone's house right off myself. That includes Marshall, Orton, and even Dumervil.

Those are our big three free agents. They all also have less than six years of service time. So short of a CBA miracle happening they'll all be RFAs that we can control with small money next off-season and use that time to negotiate fair extensions with them.

Doom's contract will be easy, you just template it off James Harrison's deal. Marshall's won't be too hard either, as he's already made it pretty clear he wants a deal like Roddy White's.

Kuper shouldn't be a particularly hard sign either. I like the guy and think he's a standout OG, but no one is going to offer him a monster deal like Steve Hutchinson, so we should be able to re-up with him for a pretty reasonable price.

Orton, should he play well in this system, is the tough one. No way you want to give him the money Cassel got, even if he outperforms Cassel's '08 season. But then he won't have the leverage of a franchise tag either, guaranteeing him $15M or so.

Not to bum anybody out. No disrespect intended. I know we are all excited, but do we need all these threads covering the same topic?
