As fans of the Broncos whose main focus in regards to watching NFL football is to pay attention to everything Broncos, most of us on this site have paid enough attention to Ryan Clady to know that he is special.

He hasnt allowed a sack since he came into the NFL. If you have ever been a video game nerd, you realize that you cant even create a player thats 6'9" and 315 pounds of pure muscle with maxed out physical attributes who you can plug into your team and get those kinds of results out of. Clady is the best thats been through Denver since Zimmerman...and Zimm is one of the all-time greats at tackle.

On to the point...today when Denver faces Dallas, Clady will be pitted against the Golden Boy of defensive ends: Demarcus Ware. This guy has a high motor and alot of strength and skill. He has pretty much already been handed the torch as this moments best defensive end. He has been given that title partly because he's pretty freakin' good, and partly because he receives alot of hype as an excellent player on the Dallas Cowboys. Even the media drinks the annual Cowboy kool-aid, and in doing so they have overhyped Ware somewhat. I imagine that if Dumervil were playing there that he would get similar treatment.

If Clady holds up against Ware, he will have gotten over the hump in the court of public opinion. This game will attract alot of attention, and Clady's results vs. Ware will be the premier attraction for most people who are serious about the way they analyze football.

If Clady stonewalls Ware, he will have begun to create for himself the reputation of perennial all-pro.

It would be great to see Clady nuetralize Ware, but I don't thing the cowgirls are going to line him up over Clady.

He has nothing left to prove. He has already stonewalled the elite pass rushers. Ware is a little different in that he's coming out of a 3-4. Im not sure we've really seen someone like Ware out of a 3-4 yet. But I dont think a 3-4 is as much man on man as it is scheming...at least not like the 4-3.

IMHO Clady has done all he can do to get everyones attention, he has faced some of the leagues best pass rushers...

Clady's Hit list, or should I say non-hit list;
Julius Peppers,
Aaron Schobel
Joey Porter
John Abreham
Richard Seymore (who was the only one to record 1/2 sack)

Is there really a debate for him not being the best tackle?

Hasn't Clady already faced Ware twice...their first meeting Ware got the better of him and on the second meeting, Ware got nothing...or am I dreaming.

Its a matter of perception, really. Although Clady has been dominant, until someone in the media makes a point of publicly noting his play, he'll be relatively underrated.

In contrast, look at Joe Thomas and Jake Long. Neither of whom have necessarily been better than Clady in any way. Nevertheless, they get more press.

I love me some Clady - but he's not 6'9", and he doesn't shoot lightning bolts out his arse. Let's not turn him into a mythical LT before we have gotten to the playoffs.

I don't recall Clady looking that bad in that game.

Refresh my memory...

Ha!

It was a video game allusion. You can create players in sports games, make them physically unstoppable, and plug them into your roster.

He may not have given up a sack to Peppers, but he sure got pushed around. That's the only time I've seen him get genuinely beaten...

Merroid doesnt even look like the same player any more. I'm not sure he's even a threat.

Heck, if these teams keep lining their studs up against Harris instead of Clady, Clady may not ever concede a sack again. ;D

I don't care if he is or not, nothing would give me a hardon more than to see Merriman owned by Clady
