The UFL is getting ready to kick off and, being in Florida, the chatter is picking up. Curious to know what type of talent the league is fielding, I decided to go to the website. Just thought it was interesting to see the number of former NFL'ers on the rosters, especially former Broncos. Check em out below:

Florida Tuskers
PJ "ATV" Alexander
Tatum "T-Mobile" Bell
Patrick "Chuckwagon" Chukwurah
Darrell "Shorty Round" Hackney
Andrew Pinnock
Todd "HGH" Sauerbrun

Las Vegas Locomotives
Nate "Jack Nasty" Jackson
David "5-Dollar Footlong" Kircus

NY Sentinels
Simeon Rice
Cecil "The Diesel" Sapp

California Redwoods
Paul Carrington

Redwoods! hahaha I went to an XFL game in Vegas years ago. It was a drunkfest and I don't remember a single snap.

Simeon Rice, interesting. Guess he can't accept that it's over. Either that or he didn't take care of his money and isn't qualififed to do anything else.

Well it could be worse, the XFL used Vince McMahon and his wraslers to promote itself.

I've always liked the idea of a spring football league, but the only thing about the XFL I liked was the ball.

Well having former NFL coaches in the UFL is really it's only hint of legitimacy right now so it makes sense they would advertise them. Coors Light commercials have also helped with street cred.

It starts in a week or two. And yes, VS is carrying most of the games.

AH, the XFL days....Cheerleaders gave lapdances during the time outs, fighting was allowed...at least a little...it was classless football at its best.

Isn't this the guy Shanny thought would put us over the top two years ago and paid him like 4 mill for a season

Chukwurah was a decent situational pass rusher ... with the right coaching he might've become a decent backup 3-4 OLB.

You know, i used to be a big tatum bell hater but after watching him play with heart (Unlike 95% of the rest of the team) the last few games of the season, especially San Diego, I have a lot of respect for him now. Too bad he's ended up in the UFL.

Yes, the rules are the same, except for OT. The biggest difference is that each team gets at least one possession in OT. For example, say the Broncos and Cowboys were to go to OT and Dallas gets the ball first (on a normal kickoff) and scores a FG. Then Denver would receive a normal kickoff and go down a score a TD, then the Broncos win the game. If they scored a FG, then the game goes to sudden death with the first team scoring next would win.

With the rules and the old coaches, the ufl should become a decent minor league.

Somewhat...it has some good rule changes (ie. no tuck rule) and some that I personally don't approve of (College OT rules, intentional grounding is allowed anywhere/anytime).

We'll see I guess

that's what the commission of the league said...that it was going to serve as a minor league for the NFL and that UFL players will be free to sign with NFL teams after their season is over Nov 27.

This is what I was thinking. With no NFL Europa, the NFL should buy this and make it their developmental squad. It could provide a decent transition for project players.

I'm actually OK with Rice wanting to play. It's not the NFL, but if he loves playing - so what - let the man do what he wants to do. He's made his coin, he obviously likes playing.

It would be nice if they could make this league work. More football is not a bad thing. Like others have said, it would be real nice if it could serve as the minor leagues for the NFL.

Being more like the NFL game will help a lot as well. The Arena league and CFL were/are just too different to get into fully for most people.
