He has no place in any station of government, and we need to realize that he's an enemy of humanity.
- Arizona Republican Congressman Trent Franks

"There's a nigra in the White House! Run for your lives!"
How long before the GOP just admits it and starts wearing effing swastikas?

Just about the time Democrats pass out Che Guevara t-shirts to put on over their empty suits. I find it funny that none of you wanks bat an eyelash when Maxine Waters or Carole Mosley Braun say something blatantly racist, yet show up with the pitchforks when anyone with an R in front of their name says such idiocy. Hell, nary a word from any of you at the blatantly sexist words that Dems pelted both Hillary and Palin with, yet such indignation over this?
Careful, your pettiness coat is showing...

Come on, Smilie. Who is dumb enough to belief this stuff is not orchestrated? There is an attack a day on Obama. The Dems have never come within miles of carrying out these kinds of attacks on any Republican, ever. This is an orchestrated assault on a president to destroy his administration, with complete disregard for the possible effects on this country. I believe that Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes in collusion with various Right Wing think tanks and the usual suspects (Rove, Cheney, et al) are carrying on the Rove tactic of constant attack and obstructionism to thwart the basic rights of the American people, who (the Right seems to forget) elected this president.
The American people voted for change and the Republicans have decided that their ideology should not surrender to democracy and will use any tactic to destroy any effort to change anything. Simple. It's called scorched earth.

"O" torched the left and expanded troops in Afghanistan and increased drones.
Now the Generals want to double our troops and big O says "Lets talk".
Meanwhile Tehran tests and goes all in...
If we can't handle primitive arid high altitude, in a nation od 12 million,. you think we can take down Persia in a clean strike? cut off US puppet after 7 years, WTF are we doing there but making enemies?

Bush was called a lot of bad things by congressman also. This is nothing new. Senators usually have more decorum but congressman and women sort of known for being a tad crazy sometimes.
Remember they represent smaller districts which means they only worry about the voters in there districts.
If Obama is unliked in that area it makes sense to attack him.
It's politics and honestly I wouldn't worry about what any congressman says unless its mine.

Well the 20 thousand that were sent was a continuation of a request that was made under Bush. If I remember correctly Bush held off on that order even though generals had asked for it. He sort of left it for Obama and Obama decided to go ahead and send them.
It was expected because Obama had said the war in afghanistan was a must win siituation.
But now his dems in congress don't like the war anymore. They want to draw it down and get out.
Obama may not have the power in his own party to fight this war.
Also though if we anticipate problems with Iran maybe its smart to lay off in Afganistan. Hard to say but if Obama now says its not neccesary to win in Afghanistan that would be a backtrack.

We've got to figure out what the endgame is. What are we trying to accomplish there? I'm not sure I know anymore. Just pull the troops out and let the Predators and Reapers put an AGM-114 on any dude that popps out of a cave?
About Persia, I hope it never comes to that, but it would be a more conventional series of battles and we can handle tank on tank/plane on plane/boat on boat.
I just don't know what the hell we are doing anymore...

About military action against Iran--Yes, we can definetly handle them in a straight up fight tank on tank, plane on plane, boat on boat, leg troop vs leg troop. However if you thought Iraq was expensive wait till you see the taxpayer reaction after a major battle takes 2 tank companies and a dozen or so mobile batteries worth of losses. Further the casualty rate would be much higher faster. I'm not saying it's would out number Iraq, but the speed at witch a modern ground war would be fought, would surley produce a more rapid growth of KIA and WIA. We'd win, it would be a slaughter but the way american's carried on about losses in Iraq (the left mainly trying to make Bush look like an ass) what would they say when when instead of losing 2 every few days, we lose 12 in one engagement?

The difference being that Bush was attacked for the actual, stupid things he did. If I had enough bandwidth, I could list them all. Maybe. Obama is being attacked for things he has nothing to do with, like degenerates at ACORN or kids singing in some classroom somewhere. I realize in rightard math 50 to 1 is the same thing as 1 to 1. That's why it all balances out in the rightard book.

Wrong again, Garibaldi. You're batting a thousand. They personally blamed him for his total failure to take action for days while American citizens were dying, and then once he did decide to do something, they blamed him because it was half-assed and ineffectual. Hell, Walmart responded faster than the U.S. government under Bush.
Don't forget Mother Bush: "And so many of the people in the arena here, you
know, were underprivileged anyway, so this--this (she
chuckles slightly) is working very well for them."
Talk about your "enemies of humanity." ;D

"If you get sick, America, the Republican health care plan is this: Die quickly," he said.

"The Republican plan is, "Die quickly.""
Just one question, SA27: can you honestly say that he's wrong in that assessment? In our current employer-based health insurance system, where...
* A recent study of insurance companies in California showed that they routinely denied 20% of ALL claims during the period examined.
* People struck by catastrophic accident or illness have a 50-50 chance of finding out the hard way that they don't have health insurance after all (either by claim denial or being dropped from coverage).
* Insurance companies routinely use a tactic of stalling benefit payments for as long as possible, gambling that the patient will die before they finally have to pay.
* The Republican health-care options, as presented so far, amount to putting their fingers in their ears, screaming "NO!" as loudly as possible, and preserving the current system.
Is the "Die quickly" statement *really* inaccurate?

Isn't it the basic GOP platform that health care should be a privilege, not a right - and should only be available to those that can afford it?

Last night here in this chamber I gave a speech. I’m not going to recount every single thing that I said, but I will point out that immediately after that speech, several Republicans asked me to apologize.
Well, I would like to apologize. I would like to apologize to the dead. And here’s why....

Iraq was bad mojo , it was wrong , now we are suffering for it both in loss of human life and in $$$ ....... With Iran , I think we have a solid case

Bush deserved what he got! He allowed himself to be selected by the Supreme Court vs allowing the Fla. Supreme Court to recount the ENTIRE STATE OF FLA. And to add insult to injury he sat idly by for 9 months and basically allowed 9-11 to happen while staying on vacation more than any President btwn Jan and August 2001!
Obama doesn't have it EASY.....he's cleaning up and having to deal with 8 years of Bush failed leadership and corruptness.
