Marketing agent Mike Ornstein says he has made NFL receiver Michael Crabtree enough money in endorsement deals that the still-unsigned first-round draft pick won't be pressured to play football for a while. "He has made over 750 grand in marketing dollars," Ornstein said. Crabtree was selected No. 10 overall by the San Francisco 49ers but has not come to terms with the team on a new contract. "It is not that he doesn't want to play, but he is not under the gun to," Ornstein said

Wow after taxes, agent fees, I heard he lives in a million dollar house in texas, and just every day living of a young "superstar" im guessing there isn't much of that 750000 left to be in no hurry for.

well as long as you dont eat subway (jimmy johns is better anyway), wear Jordan;s, or collect football cards you are fine.

Ornstein signed Crabtree last spring with independent agent Peter Miller for marketing work, and has signed deals with Subway, Jordan Brand and trading card companies Upper Deck, Topps and Panini America.

My uneducated guess will be that if he "only" made $750K so far he owes at least $2-3M by now.

I love it when someone thinks their GOD GIVEN abilities are worth more than anyone elses! Sure he worked hard to get to the Pros...running, lifting weights, playing football and fn college chics....all things that the normal Joe would hate to do for a living.

Haven't seen him in any commercials or his image used with anything...if he don't play a down bet he don't get paid.

isn't that against NCAA rules? or was it in the spring during draft time?

michael crabtree killed any marketing appeal he had when he decided he was better than the team or the games and his 15 million gauranteed contract was not good enough.

May he go the same route as Mike Williams. Sit out, drop possibly in the draft and then suck eggs. 49ers has a chance of taking that division and he could care less.

I have a feeling he hasn't exactly socked it away in a diversified portfolio. Probably more like a giant ass watch, and a big gold medallion that says "CRAPGREED".

THis guy blows my mind, I can't believe how stupid he has been through all of this. His agent is obviously an idiot as well. I love the 49ers for sticking to their guns.

Williams didn't have a choice...he hired an agent with the hopes that the NFL would change their age rule...he lost that bet...and well...probably a bunch of money had he just stayed in school one more year.

Read a deal on ESPN yesterday. They didnt say it, but they implied that while Crabtree was offered 20 mil in San Fran the Jets basically told him they would give him 40 mil guarunteed, which is a major violation with the tampering, and thats why he is holding out.

Jets are sons of bltches with this tampering shlt. First 15, now Crabtree. Hope they get a first and second yanked if this tampering is true.

Unless somebody was stupid enough to be caught on tape saying this, there's no way anyone could ever prove anything. Even if they had phone records proving they made calls to the agent, it's meaningless unless this particular agent doesn't represent any other players.
