Schefter and Werder had word from Jerry Jones, players since this morning. All seem to be thinking 2 weeks right now, but an MRI is still scheduled.

Not to cheer an injury...BUT... good for us.

What about Marion the Barbarian?

What about Marion the Barbarian?

My friend that is a cowboys fan just said Barber practiced all last week and wanted to play yesterday. It is looking like he will be ready for this week. O don't know if it is true or if he is just hopeful though.

I assume we'll get a hefty dose of barber and choice

Jones is probably a bigger absentee that Barber would be.

Tashard Choice is a damn fine runner, not quite on Barber's level but more than capable of filling in for him for a couple of games without much drop off.

Jones on the other hand is their homerun guy, as a change of pace guy he is scary and a threat on special teams too. They've nobody else like that to step in for him.

Good news for us if he can't go.

Barber is a beast and will help them a lot with blitz pickup, but I was more worried about Felix Jones this week. Denver's defense has played great, but one area that we don't seem to good at is stopping the runs to the outside. Cleveland had success running pitches to the outside, and McFadden had his longest runs going to the outside. I think we are pretty good at stopping runs up the gut, but we seem to get gashed on the outside.

I was thinkin the same thing. Choice is more of a barber clone, they don't have that speed back now.

Sweet. Now there will be an excuse for when we beat them. We'll still be under the radar for New England.

Jones is fragile. I don't know how many carries/game he received in college, but he's never lasted more than 9 in his short NFL career.

Denver catching some good fortune so far this year.

Nice change.

I think Choice is scarier of the two. Barber and Choice is a brutal 1-2 punch. I hope our D can hold them down.

Can you say Phew! What is his YPC average... 9-10. He is scary good if he finds a crease.

Felix Jones is by far more dangerous than either in open field and the Cowboys have done a great job of finding it. Through his career thus far Jones has a higher than 9 yards per carry average. Choice can't touch that.

PCL sprain. Wade saying "day to day", but it's already out that he's not going to play this week.

No real word on Barber. Wade not sounding very confident about him.

Interesting as well that we have been pretty spared when it comes to injuries. A few minor dents and bruises but so far we seem to have managed to stay pretty healthy.

I would rather them have all their RB's that way when we thump there asses they won't have any excuses

I'd rather play them at full strength too, but even if they were and we win, ESPN will find a way to twist it around to be all Tony Romo making mistakes and not us winning.

QFT! Wanting it easy is the path to the Dark Side. It can lead to pain and ruin.

Huge news for us, I thought Jones and the TEs were the only thing on the cowboys that pose a threat, now we just gotta focus on them TEs this week and try to limit big gains.

No. BARBER just plain wears defenses down and can kill a game in the 4th. With a smallish D like ours I'd much prefer jones.

Im not sure i get why people think we have a smallish D. We basically run a 5-2. LAST YEAR we had a smallish D, this year all our lineman are at or close to 300 and our OLBs are 260 +

If given the choice, I'd rather beat a team at less than 100% than lose to a team at 100%. Unless the NFL starts putting asterisks next to victories over teams with injuries, I'll continue to feel this way.

IRVING, Texas (AP) - Cowboys running back Felix Jones has a
sprained ligament in his left knee, and his status for the upcoming
game at Denver will depend on how he feels this week.
Jones had an MRI on Tuesday after getting hurt during Dallas'
21-7 victory over the Carolina Panthers on Monday night. He ran
eight times for 94 yards and had another 20 yards on a reception
while making his first career start, replacing the injured Marion
Barber.
Barber has a strained thigh and has a good chance of playing
Sunday against the Broncos.

---

Beware a motivated Marion Barber that will be out to prove his team wrong for not ok'ing him to play on Monday night, when we wanted and felt like he should have.

That's too bad, I like Felix Jones. He impressed me a lot more than McFadden in college. Good for us though. Gives Dallas one less weapon to use.
