Serious, I was watching the Sunday recap and it felt like every game where a QB had a bad day, the announcers were defending him or blaming his recievers. What gives?

This is what the NFL has become. Theyve made the game ridiculous at times trying to protect "the face of the franchise". And because theyre the faces of their franchises, they get kid glove treatment. The saying, "they get too much credit and too much blame" isnt always true. Its sad.

also, alot of the guys doing color on TV are ex-QBs themselves. Simms. Gannon. Aikman. etc. and on the pregame/postgame shows as well. Esiason. Bradshaw. Marino. etc. seems like there's kind of an unwritten rule about QBs not putting down other QBs.

It is really frustrating to listen to the coverage some times. It is certainly true that in some cases the WR is making the QB look bad, no doubt about that - but with Russell, the biggest thing preventing him from being good is himself in more ways than one I might add.
