Bly's been pretty good for SF. I have no beef with him.

Having said that, McCree sucked, and Goodman+Hill are awesome.

Yeah, if we still had Bly we would have a sick Nickle

Also: Breathing > Suffocating

You know, while we're here.

Getting laid > rubbing one out

Alive > Dead

Oh, is this not the obvious observations thread?

Yeah, massive improvement.

Thank you McD.

Honestly, a lump of excrement is better than Mccree so that is not really a fair comparison there.

Bly was going to be too expensive for us and Goodman is an upgrade.

Yeah like somebody else said, I have zero beef with Bly. He really got screwed last season IMO. I'm not saying he's a great CB, but IMO the scheme, etc, put him in a position to fail. I thought he always played hard, etc.

I think you were looking for the "obvious sarcasm thread".

Well, when we have a DC that can't tie his shoes, it's not going to be pretty...

Its only week three but I would like to go ahead and acknowledge that I called these two as a pair being the surprise players of the year.

Yeah but let's be honest, Bly had about as good of coverage as you can get on a receiver. Not his fault Favre pulls another miracle out of his ass and his receiver makes a spectacular catch. Nothing else Bly could have done on that.

Nolan talked about why an improved secondary was going to make a big difference before the season.

Turns out, we made massive upgrades on the D-line, AND the secondary... on, and at LB.

Not a bad start to fixing this team.

McCree and Manuel didn't belong in the NFL.

"Hill + Goodman > Bly + McCree" = understatement of the day.

Dawkins has completely transformed this defense.

BTW, I missed the game today because of rush obligations with Lambda Chi Alpha. The board seems pretty upbeat, even for a big Raiders win... did our secondary really look that good?

just like we tried saying, lets give these guys a chance to play their new role before telling the front 7 they suck. we didnt make HUGE blockbuster changes in hte front 7, mario haggan, vonnie holliday, ronald fields and andra davis, but they are playing great together.

I want to say that I think Bly would also be playing well on this defense. As far as Hill over McCree, Manual, or any other scrub safty we threw out last yr, yes much better.

In fact its not even close. This secondary so much better then last yr.

Dallas next week huh? Well they play tommorow so we get them on a short week which is kind of nice. We should all be watching them monday night to see what we will be facing.

Hopefully they have a nice physical game like we did.

dallas is leading the league in rushing pg, but barber may be out or limited.

I will tell you this: Hill has been outstanding. Dawkins has been the man, but Hill has seemed to be in the right place whenever they've needed him. Case in point, there was a play in the 2nd qtr. (I think?) where McFadden made a great cutback and had nothing but open field in front of him. But Hill, who was the deep cover 3 safety on the play came in to hold him to 11 yards on a great one-on-one tackle.

When they play 4 DBs, I challenge anyone to find a better set of corners and safeties than the Broncos have right now.

They're putting up yards (Dallas) but their giving up just about as many. They've been run on quite a bit.

Dallas will be a tough game for Denver despite there problems.

They are still a big physical team with some talent at RB.
