I would have thought an Obama supporter would have touted this. Looks like it was worth scrapping an expensive program that might not work if Russia no willing to let us stop Iran from building nukes.
China still a problem.
Still though IMO Obama cashed in some chips and has a chance to play them wisely with Russia.

Well no one has been buying the Iranian line it's for peaceful purposes. This new facility is only big enough to build a bomb a yr. Not even enough for a civilian nuclear facility. It was for one reason and one reason only. Make just enough uranium to build a bomb, but not big enough to get caught.
If Obama is anticipating having to attack Iran then he would be smart to not send the 40 thousand to Afghanistan and instead get ready to respond to what Iran does if there nuclear facilities get bombed.
No way any threats of sanctions, or even sanctions themselves will stop Iran I'm afraid. It may take an attack.

Maybe there is another alternative angle this will help to increase the protests from the people of iran they are between a rock and hard place this just might push them even futher than before. I have been reading some iranian blogs and those people are sick and tired of the radical goverment and it's direction of the world stage they want nothing to do with the mullahs and that little midget.

Funny, until I see actual sanctions against Iran, why would I pat anyone on the back for being 'on board'?
Obama gets credit for being a good poker player in this instance, for sure. He timed it perfectly in order to put some pressure on Russia and China during a time of high profile by both. Well played, IMO. Russia is still pro-Iran because they rely on Iran for their economic well-being, so rhetoric is not the same as legitimate action against Iran. It seems like only yesterday when Obama was telling America that Iran was no threat and gee, it actually WAS just about yesterday when Biden was saying the same thing--9/17 to be exact.
Obama has upped the ante here, and knowing Iran, he'd best be ready for Iran to deny, accuse, and lash out against him. He'd best be ready for a long, drawn out, and very antagonistic 3 years. Is he tough enough to see this through? We'll see. From what i've seen, we suspect that Iran has about 10 more of these secret sites. Does Obama pull an O'Keefe/Giles and start pulling them out for a rolling effect or not?

America can nolonger shoulder the burden of snuffing out all the evil in the world. Its time for our allies to step up to the plate as well.

Rasta thanx for the link. Good to see Russia finally getting on board with our aims in the foriegn policy realm. Considering how the US and Russia are pretty much responsible for the widespread desire for nuclear arms, I consider it historic that we'd be on the same page of non-poliferation. Another + for Obama in my book. (Geez twice in one day I compliment his decisions? I better log off) bye
