Chargers lose starting center until December
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on September 23, 2009 5:58 PM ET
The gaping hole in the middle of San Diego's defensive line now has a counterpart on offense.

Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports that the Chargers will be without starting center Nick Hardwick until December after he underwent surgery on his left ankle Wednesday.

He's expected to miss "at least" eight weeks, so the team will have to consider placing him on season-ending injured reserve. The Chargers lost nose tackle Jamal Williams for the season last week.

One of the flying Mruczkowski brothers -- Scott -- took Hardwick's place in the starting lineup against Baltimore and should have the job indefinitely.

The Chargers have averaged 65 yards per game on the ground through two games, which is 30th in the league.

Oh great, now if we beat them the fans can use that as an excuse.

Just FYI, but it may be necessary to differentiate between Colts and Chargers when using the derogatory term "Dolts". Ha!

I thought this was about the Colts and went, "Meh." Glad I checked out the thread.

how's about we win a meaningful game vs Chargers or Colts before we call them Dolts.

I ****in' lawled at this:
"One of the flying Mruczkowski brothers "

My chargers fan buddy has taken the "whatever now we'll lose and finally Norv will get fired" approach. I hope he doesn't :(

Maybe they'll pull Jeremy Newberry out of retirement.

Starting offensive line injury bug is hitting the AFC West. Kuper for us, Nick for Chuggers and Gallery for Faiders

Meh... after what happened to our running game and our backs last year they have no room to make up excuses.

Yeah no ****, and Louis Murphy CLEARLY didn't catch that ball in the endzone week 1. CLEARLY. The refs never make mistakes. Raiders need to stop crying about it.

next time a faider fan thinks that horrible call cost them the game, please remind them that they would never have gone for it on 4th and 15 to get 7 points. They would have punted or gone for 3 (highly unlikely) therefore, they got at least 4 extra points on the 4th down play (or matched the points from the TD called back).

I'll cough up a furball if we make the playoffs.

Seems like lots of injuries helping us....

We get to play a real man boob at QB this week....

The Chargers are losing key players every week it seems. LT, Williams, and now their center.
