I think the Broncos should go after Crabtree then look to trade Marshall.Crabtree would be perfect for the Broncos offence. I would trade a second round pick in 2011 that could become a 2011 first based on how Crabtree plays in 2009 and 2010 plus 4 rounder in 2010 . The Broncos then look to unload Marshall. I have a bad feeling that once Marshall gets his big contract then he will slack off. I would take a second rounder plus a 4 rounder for Marshall.

He kind of reminds me of Brandon Marshall on the football field. I just don't think we should trade one problem child for another though.

This idea is a WIN! Trade one probelm (that actually played for 4yrs) for a player that wont even play now. He would still want 20mil guar/35mil contract. With Urlacher out, I dont see the Bears winning more then 8, so you want to trade a top 15/10 pick next year? I hear we can get Pacman for 2 1st rnds!

As if we dont have enough drama surrounding this team, you want to pay a kid who hasn't played an NFL down more money than he's officially worth and trade the guy away who at least has given that $$$ production on the field if not off it.

Wasn't there a dead line that came and went. I say we wait and get him in the second round in next years draft if we want him that bad. Even then I wouldn't do it. This guy needs to go to the UFL or whatever that league is so he stays in game shape.

he can't be traded for until after he signs a contract, the deadline to trade an unsigned rookie has been long since passed

Why would we trade a player with production and head problems for a player with no NFL pedigree and head problems?

Crabtree and his agent are complete dumbasses. There's no way he's going this high in the draft if he sits a year out and there could very well be a rookie wage scale in next year. He's gonna lose millions just because his ego can't take being drafted after Heyward-Bey.

I don't understand how they think they can come out of this as a winner. He's already viewed as a problem-child.

already getting deducted 1/16th per missed game. go 49ers, make a stand.

Cocaine is a helluva drug. Yes it is. I don't know that you could not trade for Crabtree anymore. Crabtree is a idiot for turning down the 49ers offer but I still might use a second rounder on him next yers draft if the Broncos trade Marshall.

Why? There will be a stud in the 2nd round next year we can nab (if he declares) named Desmond Briscoe :)

23 million. Wow, I am not sure Pat has that kind of cash.

Dr. Broncenstein
09-15-2009, 08:22 PM
What in the **** is going on in that guy's head? Realize that the 49ers own his rights up to the next draft. That means he can't workout for anyone else... be examined by any other team... re-enter the combine... etc, without the permission of the 49ers. Add to this some valid injury concerns. So any team that might draft him essentially gets no evaluation of his physical state, a year's worth of rust, a potentially chronic injury, and a bonafide headcase. No way he goes first round if he re-enters the draft. This is just epic fail on the part of Crabtree and his representation.

i thought the same thing. this year he was a top 10 talent, but in next years draft that is pretty damn talented, he is not going to even sniff the 1st round. if he thinks he can hold out and then have a team draft him at the same spot or higher next season, he is crazy. no deep speed, no height, he has good hands, but there isn't really anything about him that makes him special or worth what he wants or thinks he is worth.

i just see one problem if he does hold out. he is bitching because mock drafts had him as the 1st receiver drafted, if he holds out and let's say he gets drafted in the 2nd round next season, is he going to be a pain in the ass claiming he was a number 7 overall pick in 2009 and expect that kind of money next season or is he going to realize he ****ed up and take the 2nd round money he is offered

Heard the Niners are using early 2011 mock drafts (that don't have Crabtree in the 1st)
as leverage in negotiations.

worst idea ever Really http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fm9gAYutAwg Crabtree almost had a 2000 yard season his freshman year and also scored 23 and 19 touchdowns the last 2 years. Crabtree cheaper then Marshall. Crabtree would only cost about 5 million a year but Marshall could cost 8 million.

I understand your enthusiasm, but there is a long, long list of great college WR's that never made it in the NFL. Next - the absolutely terrible "me first" attitude which is the antithesis of what McDaniels has been trying to accomplish.

I say, let's stick with team guys - it worked for Royal. We can find talent and the proper attitude. Just say no to Crabtree - as if the 49ers won't work out a deal sometime this season...

O.k you guys would rather have Marshall , The guy once he gets his big contact will turn into Javon Walker. At least Crabtree will be playing for a super huge contract in 5 or 6 years and wouldn't break the Broncos budget at 5 million dollar a year. Crabtree is not one women beating away from being out of the NFL. Crabtree the most prolific College receiver ever for and freshman . Crabtree might be greedy and not to smart but he still a great football player .

Javon had bad knees and his teamate died in his arms.

Marshall has some hip prob but is the source of his own issues. At least he can still get downfield and open. Once Orton's finger heals and he is more comfortable in the system the catches will come.

Unless you are one of the fools around here who thinks Marshall is trying to drop balls to piss the fans off.
