TSI, just a question. Don't get all wadded up about this but why do you never use capitalization in your thread titles or posts?

Seriously, don't be offended. I'm just curious. I guess I may be anal retentive or something but every time I see your long thread titles with no capitalization it makes me cringe.

Sometimes people need to figure things out on their own, instead of asking for help with every single facet of their life.

It's not rocket science, I am sure you can figure it out.

I'm actually doing you a favor by making you less dependent on others....no need to thank me.

I think it shows your impatient to a degree and you rush to get your point and opinion typed and sent. Just me.

General rule of thumb I was taught with cover letters:
First paragraph: Who you are, what you're applying for and why you're qualified.
Second paragraph: Examples of relevant work experience showing why you're qualified.
Third and final paragraph: Gracious thank you, restate that you're an excellent candidate.
And check it over like 20 times for spelling mistakes, they're fatal!

Go to library and check out a couple different books on Cover letters and read them.

It is a process, you just don't sit down and write them.

Good luck.

Here are few examples:

1. "My ultimate goal is to become a doctor, but since I was not able to get into medical school I would like to work for your company."

2. "I am nown for my close attention to detail."

3. "I have an excellent track record, although I am not a horse."

4. "Don't take the comments of my former employers too seriously. They don't know what they are talking about."

Pat Bowlen writes a pretty good letter.

Being serious though, are you really that much of an attention whore you have to post this in this thread?

Agree - this thread does not belong on the Central Discussion site during Onseason. Its my favorite damned rule of Omane.

While you probably don't have to read a whole book, much less 2 whole books, it wouldn't hurt to do a little research. However, it's really not all that hard. Yes, you can just sit down and write one. Yes, you can be an idiot and still write a passable cover letter. If you get hired that would only confirm it.

Not to be facetious, but you would do well not to separate the two quite so much. For one, you spend way more time typing "informally" than you do formally. Writing's writing - either you do it well or you don't. I don't know a single good writer who doesn't also write well informally. If you make it a point to write well whenever you write, you will get a lot better at it and you won't need help with the cover letter.

As far as your situation right now goes it looks like BroncoBuff offered to help and he seems like a well-written guy, judging from his posts (see how that works? lol ) By the way you are a total homer but you seem to communicate fairly well on the forum and I am sure you will do just fine. Just work on that grammar a bit!

I still don't know why you need a cover letter to sling a mop.

I kid because it was too easy...
