No, I don't think Kyle Orton is a great QB. But before shredding him for taking a sack on Broncos second-to-last series, a few things to keep in mind.
1. He just made back-to-back plays but penalties screwed him.
2. For a play that needed to preserve field position (first) and pick up a safe couple yards (second), they never should have lined up five-wide. You don't expose your injured QB like that with the lead. That's on McDaniels (but I'm still going to give him a chance).
And finally, the Pats started slow on offense last year when they only replaced the QB. Orton is less than 100% and the offense is new to everyone. Wait until Nov. before giving up hope.
