Yeah, I can't think of one .... the "Toro Toro" opener in Buffalo was good, but this was GREAT!

Probably won't get much attention in the sports world as a whole (outside some highlights on SportsCenter this week), but in terms of Bronco finishes it has to be up there.

Louis Wright ran back for TD in the (late 80S?) after they had blocked it once but given it back to SD on a penalty.

Its kind of like that OT game back in 85 when Dennis Smith blocked back to back FGs because the first one was negated. On the second one, Louis Wright scooped up the ball and was off to the races.

This is nothing like the Miracle at Michigan or the Flutie Miracle. Its different in college.

I think this one is so exciting because Orton almost threw an INT on the play before then he under throws Marshall (yes it went like 56 yards in the air) and you think it is going to fall to the ground or be picked only to watch the only Bronco player that wanted to win (according to Popps) take it to the house unmolested.

I had the feeling with 5 min to go that the Bungles would drive 90 yards to take the lead and they did, then to have the ball tipped to win it was wild. You just don't get a miracle all that often.

Comeback connotes actually doing something to merit winning. Little's last minute "throw me the ball" after fumbling or even Castille's stripping Byner of the ball. Even the mystery call in the Oakland Denver playoff game before the 77 superbowl, didn't really decide the game, since bad calls went both ways, and Oak had plenty of subsequent chances to win. Stokley's td was funny, but it was from simple dumb luck. Entertaining, but it reminded me more of two celler dwellers unable to figure out who would lose than something like we bronco fans have gotten used to seeing the past 30 years or so.

That's not what I said ... if you're gonna quote/paraphrase somebody, you should get it right. I said the defense played great, but nearly gave the game away in crunch time. Actually they DID give it away, Stokley saved them.

Im surprised you are being a complete idiot.

The defense played all 4 quarters, in fact, they played more than their share at 33 minutes on the field. They held an opposing NFL team on the road to 7 freaking points.

I dont care if they score in the beginning of the game or at the end of the game, when you give up exactly 1 TD to an NFL team on the road with a completely new system and NINE new defensive starters, you did a fan ****ing tastic job.

You just want to look for anything to bitch about ****tard.

Basically the complete opposite of the last two years.

Any offense that needs a miracle to score >7 points in a game is not doing its job.

ScottXray
09-14-2009, 05:21 PM
I think the discussion would still be about how bad the Offense looked.
As many have posted we never got into the red zone. (actually I think that
Buckhalter did on that last series before the Cincci drive...but it got called back on the 1st holding call).

Yeah, they gave it up late....after being on the field for most of the game, and doing a great job.

That was a bad thing . But compared to last year there is so much to be happy about our D fo,r that the Offense would definitely be the topic, and not the D.

Hell the O is still the main topic....just not in a PANIC mode yet.

I was there and I will never forget the feeling, the lady behind me between the "almost" interception and the "play" rubbing my shoulders and telling me it's okay, maybe next week...and than the pass was tipped, Stockley caught it and I was jumping up and down, crowd going silent...I was in Buffalo two years ago, no time to react cause no one thought they would get it off, but I got to jump and yell "GO GO GO" for 60 some yards and it was sweet. To me being there ranks right up there with my sport highlight moments
