warning: i am a broncos fan, so this is a positive post
all of our weapons are back and they have virtually no game tape to prepare for us. HOODini has been at work
for starters, tho it is likely orton, they are not completely sure who to prepare for at qb: orton(traditional righty), simms (a lefty with slightly better arm), or the rook (with a much better arm and more mobile)
secondly, our running backs; moreno should play, and they cannot know what to expect from him giving that he only played a few downs in our offense. i would not be surprised if hillis starts (im hoping mcd was keeping him a secret during preseason)
wr: no one has seen marshall in this system. royal got some touches, but not nearly the amount he is to get sunday. same with gaffney. i may be most excited for mckinnley
te: im looking for scheffler/graham to line up out wide some times to give us some matchups
wildcat formation: havent seen it YET, but can u imagine moreno/royal/marshall out there running wildcat? sickness
im not saying mcd did this intentionally, but he will have some tricks up his rolled-up hoodie sleeve sunday. should be entertaining/interesting to see how he uses our weapons.
GO BRONCOS!

I think they already said Orton's starting.

McD said he HOPES he will start..
Could be subterfuge, as he preps with Simms or Brandstater.

On the other hand Orton has been staying late to get more practice with
Marshall...not necessarily what a open separation torn finger would be expected to allow, instead of ice in the training room..

So chances are he is Ok, as long as he doesn't get set back.

Maybe we have a Bionic Glove for him to wear?

As far as the Cincy d-coord ... right now, what's there to fear exactly?

Kyle Orton has produced exactly ONE touchdown all preseason ... and that's with the starters. We have an excellent O-line of course, though perhaps without Kuper this week. And unless Knowshon is lying in wait to start, we have no serious running backs, save Hillis every third play.

I dunno ... hard to be confident with just the one first-team TD all preseason (Simms had TWO in just one half).

The DEFENSE is what I'm excited about ... I think we're going to see some VERY different things, some major eye-opening sets and attack schemes, the kind we haven't seem all preseason. You watch, the defense is gonna be manic.

lots of surprises?

Here is the gameplan.

Lots of slants, off tackle runs, and bubble screens. Maybe 1 bootleg that goes for 4 yards to Sheffler.

There you go, the Denver Broncos 2009 playbook a la noodle-armed Orton. There will be no downfield throws, as we have no downfield threat QB- therefore the playbook is limited, and teams will be keying on the run game. Eddie Royal will have a shortened career as he is taking an absolute pounding constantly trying to break 5 yard slants into 45 yard gains.

Dink and dunk, with lots of FGs this year, bank on it.

He is totally wrong about the course of the Broncos, and is starting to realize it. As reality sets in for Popps and his ilk, the personal attacks will only intensify as they look for a place to direct their rage and stupidity at. Eventually, after a long and frustrating look in the mirror, he will finally acknowledge that we were right; letting Cutler go was monumentally stupid, and ruining the offense when the defense was the worst in the league last year was a massive miscalculation.

By that point, unfortunately, the McDaniels nutlick crew will be fluffing something else completely wrong and stupid, and we will once again be correcting them

In the case of ugly loss(es), doesn't the golden loads gobblers' complete reversal of opinion on Cutler suggest his loads may not forever be golden to his now ardent gobblers?

Or are they too ego-attached to McD by this point to discontinue eagerly swallowing these golden loads?

We will see what happens! The great O-mane schism of 2009 is is easily more entertaining to watch than any pass Orton has thrown.

In any case, HUT HUT HIKE.

Jebus people! Its like the Broncos fan base has gone loony left and retard right. Just because someone doesn't think the Broncos have put themselves in a good position doesn't mean they're no longer a fan... just because someone (like me) has eternal optimism when every season starts doesn't make them a jizz swallowing McD nazi.

For the love of Elway, can't we just agree to disagree on the ability of the team this year without the friggin "mopey mafia" and "McD nuthugger" insults? We used to be a classy bunch of fans... but we're looking worse and worse every time I get on this board.

Regardless of our position we must go forth with the season and as long as you support the Orange and Blue, regardless of your belief in the current position of the team, you are a Bronco brother to me! Go Broncos!

And if nothing else, something maybe we can band around - F the Raiders!

I'm excited about the season. It's like Christmas day approaching and you're 5 years old again wondering what Santa brought you.

We have a top rated O-line and i'm sure we can get past these early injuries just fine. I'm sure even the Steelers wouldn't mind having some of our talent here.

BM is back and will lead one of the best WR units in all of football. How can one not get excited over this?

Hillis & Moreno. enough said. This is going to be fun watching.

We have all the right FB's, TE's blocking WR's to employ all the screens and short game plans that McD wishes to dial up.

We are going to shock some people how well our offense recovers from the Cutler fiasco. No, there's no replacing a strong arm gunslinger like Jay.... but we're going to adapt just fine. It may not be as pretty, but it will be affective.

Our Special Teams have made huge strides. Won't it be nice not to have the worst starting position in the NFL.

We have some playmakers in Dawkins, Champ, D.J. etc. on the Defense. Cant wait to see howour DE-LB shuffle works out. Seems to have improved our Defense already. I see better pressure on the QB this season. I say we'll be approaching middle of the road with this unit. We'll get run over by the top teams but will hold our own against most others. Big improvement in my book.

Yes, our QB position regressed but almost every other area on the team has improved IMO to counterbalance.

I'm even looking forward to seeing those ugly mustard and brown uni's.

This is going to be a very interesting season. No, we're probably not heading for the playoffs. But we're not going to mess down our leg either.

If McD falls flat on his face I'll boo him. If he turns things around I'll praise him.

There will be plenty of high drama here on the Mane this year to last a few seasons.

Let the Bronco Games begin!

Could be wrong on this one, but i think the post concerned stopping the Broncos' offense, not the income of Cincy's defensive coordinator.

You are right though, Orton will face Cincy without the help of the O-line, Royal, Marshall, Hillis, Stokley, Buckhalter, Moreno, and perhaps and improved defense.
