A WHITE South African man has been granted refugee status in Canada after an immigration board ruled that his “fear of persecution by African South Africans” was justified.

Brandon Huntley, 31, who grew up in Mowbray, Cape Town, made his refugee claim in April last year.

On Thursday, in Ottawa, Ontario, the only member of the immigration board to hear Huntley’s application, William Davis, ruled that Huntley would “stick out like a sore thumb due to his colour in any part of the country”.

Davis added that the unemployed irrigation sprinkler salesman had given “clear and convincing” proof of the state’s “inability or unwillingness to protect him”.

Huntley’s lawyer, Russell Kaplan, said that he is a human-rights lawyer who emigrated to Canada 20 years ago to escape the apartheid government’s discrimination against black South Africans.

Kaplan told The Times that Huntley had been attacked seven times in South Africa by black people who called him a “settler” and a “white dog”.

Kaplan’s sister, Lara, who emigrated to Canada last year, testified about the torture and murder of her other brother, Robert, by robbers in South Africa in 1997. Both Lara and Huntley gave evidence in camera in a full-day hearing on August 18.

Between 30 and 40 newspaper clippings were presented as evidence of life in South Africa.

“One article exhibited was published in [the Daily Sun in 2004] by Africa Ka Mahamba. entitled ‘Taking from whites is not a crime’,” Kaplan said.

[I]The article quotes the leader of the “Uhuru cultural club” as telling youngsters who attended a Human Rights Day celebration to steal from whites because “it is the right thing to do”.

“The judgment was a direct criticism of the South African government,” Kaplan said.

He said that affirmative action and black economic empowerment were two of the aspects that were taken into account in considering Huntley’s application for refugee status in Canada. “These legislated policies, even though there is an explanation for them, are discriminatory. ”

Huntley first went to Canada on a six-month work permit in 2004, working as a carnival attendant. He returned in 2005, staying on illegally.

Foreign Affairs spokesman Ronnie Mamoepa said it would have been “preferable, before such a decision was made, that the South African government’s view was sought. “Quite clearly, the allegations are as preposterous as they are laughable — which they would be if they were not serious,” he said.

He got his first DUI earlier this year and was hoping to attend the 2010 Olymics in Canada but under the terms of his penalt y he's not allowed to leave the country? What the heck? We have ten million illegals in this country yet we won't allow Americans to travel to Cananda because they made one really bad mistake? Ignored by the Portuguese and Dutch, except as a convenient resting point en route to India. Shunned by the British, who had decided that their empire was already large enough and didn’t need to include bits of Africa.

The vast mineral wealth lying undisturbed below the Highveld soil as simple tribesmen graze their cattle blissfully unaware that beneath them lies one of the richest gold seams in the world. But what would they want with gold?

There are no roads because no roads are needed because there are no cars. It’s 2008 and no one has taken the slightest interest in South Africa, apart from a handful of botanists and zoologists who reckon that the country’s flora and fauna rank as one of the largest unspoilt areas in a polluted world.

Because they have never been exposed to the sinful ways of the West, the various tribes of South Africa live healthy and peaceful lives, only occasionally indulging in a bit of ethnic cleansing.

Their children don’t watch television because there is no television to watch. Instead they listen to their grandparents telling stories around a fire. They live in single-storey huts arranged to catch most of the day’s sunshine and their animals are kept nearby.

Life is, on the whole, pretty good but there is something vital missing. Being unaware of the temptations of the outside world, nobody knows what it is. Fire has been discovered and the development of the wheel is coming on nicely but the tribal elders are still aware of some essential happiness ingredient they still need to discover. Praying to the ancestors is no help because they are just as clueless.

Then something happens that will change this undisturbed South Africa forever. Huge metal ships land on the coast and big metal flying birds are sent to explore the sparsely populated hinterland. They are full of men from a place called China and they are looking for coal, metal, oil, platinum, farmland, fresh water and cheap labour and lots of it. Suddenly the indigenous population realise what they have been missing all along: someone to blame. At last their prayers have been answered.

The horriblle conditions we see across this continent today are almost entirely due to the impact of what Western nations did to these people, not just through slavery, but through the systematic attempt to eliminate their cultures that continues even today. The immigration board’s chairperson, William Davis, said the evidence during a hearing last month painted a picture “of indifference and inability or unwillingness” by the South African government to protect Mr Huntley.
Mr Davis concluded that if Mr Huntley was sent back to South Africa his life would be in danger, and granted him refugee status. The decision caused widespread debate about racism in South Africa, and prompted the government to deny Mr Huntley’s assertions about life in his home country. It has asked its Canadian counterpart to challenge the ruling, which it has agreed to do.

However, the story took a bizarre twist on Monday when Mr Mellet – related to Mr Huntley via his maternal grandparents – wrote on the Cape-Slavery-Heritage website that he had verified Mr Huntley’s ancestral breakdown through death notices and the Cape Town city archives.

Mr Huntley (31) hit the headlines around the world last week when an independent immigration board in Canada granted him refugee status because of his alleged persecution by black criminals in South Africa for being white. He said that between 1991 and 2003 he had been attacked seven times and stabbed three times by black South Africans who called him “a white dog” and “a settler”. He never reported any of the incidents to the police.

The immigration board’s chairperson, William Davis, said the evidence during a hearing last month painted a picture “of indifference and inability or unwillingness” by the South African government to protect Mr Huntley.
Mr Davis concluded that if Mr Huntley was sent back to South Africa his life would be in danger, and granted him refugee status. The decision caused widespread debate about racism in South Africa, and prompted the government to deny Mr Huntley’s assertions about life in his home country. It has asked its Canadian counterpart to challenge the ruling, which it has agreed to do.

However, the story took a bizarre twist on Monday when Mr Mellet – related to Mr Huntley via his maternal grandparents – wrote on the Cape-Slavery-Heritage website that he had verified Mr Huntley’s ancestral breakdown through death notices and the Cape Town city archives.

“Over 50 per cent of Brandon’s relatives are people of colour in Cape Town and don’t share his race attitudes or so-called ‘fear problem’ . . . Brandon’s great-great-grandmother, Francina, was a woman of colour, married to . . . William Haddon, one of the first Englishmen to settle in the Xalanga district of the Transkei . . . At least one of his direct family, his father’s brother, is married across the colour line.”

Johannesburg - "It's time you whites packed your bags and ****ed off."
With these words a black police inspector from Tembisa on the East Rand allegedly scolded the victims of an armed robbery and hijacking attempt in Kempton Park on Monday night.
This officer, whose name is known to Beeld, apparently refused to arrest a black suspect on the scene.
He also refused to open a case after Nic Lubbe, 51, from Kempton Park West, his daughter, Antoenet Cronjé, and her two sons, Morné, 11, and Kyle, 3, were assailed by robbers on Monday night.
'White dogs'
He ostensibly also refused to allow white members of the Norkem Park police to search the suspects' car and called them "white dogs".
Lubbe said he was on his way to drop off his daughter and grandchildren at their house in Terrenure at about 23:00 when he saw a grey Corsa bakkie next to the road in Orange River Street.
Suddenly the Corsa bakkie's headlights went on to blind Lubbe. Then it was driven into Lubbe's bakkie from behind.
Three armed men jumped off the back and grabbed Cronjé's handbag.
Lubbe sped away and later returned to the scene with his wife, Mara, 49, and members of the Norkem Park police office.
A black inspector from the Tembisa roadblock task team was already there with one of the suspects (the driver of the Corsa). The other three got away.
"The inspector said we were white dogs and he told a white policewoman that he would see to it that she was shot dead in a robbery.
"Then he cocked his R5 (rifle) in my face and said it was time that we whites packed our bags and ****ed off out of the country."
An eyewitness apparently heard the inspector's offensive remarks.
"I saw how these people were robbed, but he protected the criminal."
The inspector apparently did open an accident report. The Corsa driver's wife then arrived on the scene, posing as a police officer.
One of the Norkem Park police officers said this woman wanted to arrest them when they tried to search the Corsa for "interfering with the scene".
Lubbe said the woman emptied out the contents of his daughter's handbag and returned the empty handbag to her.
On Tuesday Lubbe opened a case of armed robbery and attempted hijacking at the Norkem Park police.
Gauteng police spokesperson Superintendent Eugene Opperman said the matter was being investigated "with the view to possible disciplinary steps."
The Tembisa and provincial police management have expressed their shock at the alleged incident, he said.

Europeans enslaved each other and were also the victims of the Arab slave trade until they got their hands on gun powder and firearms in the 14th century. Then they went searching for people who didn't have the same weapons to fight back with and used religion to justify what they were doing in the form of blessing from the Catholic church; not unlike Adolph Hitler used Arian racial lineage merged with a twisted appeal to Christianity as his appeal to moral priviledge. Slave ships raided along the coast in little villages rather than pushing into the interior where they would have faced larger contingents of armed opposition. Colonial armies did battle with small tribes and kingdoms rarely facing armies of more powerful states. When they did the results were sometimes disasterous as the British discovered in South Africa when they were wiped out by Zulu warriors in the 1860's.
